FYI – we have just received the following message from Vista Outdoors (the parent company of Alliant Powders):
“Due to the worldwide shortage of nitrocellulose, the Vista Outdoor supply agreement for the sale of Alliant Powder canisters has been suspended for an unknown period. At this time, we have no timeline for the fulfillment and will be canceling outstanding Alliant orders in our system.
Representatives will provide updates and coordinate new orders based on availability.”
We have heard mixed messages from various powder suppliers about the availability of nitrocellulose, and therefore powder, over the past several months. This is one Manufacturer’s analysis of the situation. We are posting this so you can have all the information we have and draw whatever conclusions are right for you.

I would not be surprised to see them entirely devote production to military contracts at some point also. Many of the big orders for ammo here in the USA are headed to overseas countries.

That is a different whole kettle of fish. In the next few months. I see much grief.

If the manufacture is saying it's almost impossible to make, you may want to buy some, if you are not stocked up already. I've heard this from other sources as well. Just a waiting game at this point. Will it get better after Trump is in office? I don't know, but I do know this current administration is fu cking us gun owners any way they can.

Bruno’s has AR Comp, RL 16, 15.5, Bullseye and a few others. Pricey like others have mentioned. Like $60 per pound.

What are you using it in? 30-06 by chance?

I saw H4350 on the shelf at a local store for $74.99 a pound!! I left it there

A possible effect from the election of Donald Trump might be that he’ll reduce the hassle involved in opening new manufacturing plants, and someone may decide to jump in the nitrocellulose biz, and maybe some other needful things that have us at the mercy of events and foreign ass_holes.
