Yep. Glad I added several small case rifles to the mix several years ago with the idea of powder conservation. Even a .308 size case is going to get too expensive to load. Thats one of their goals....

Re: FBI to build AI database of your gun pics

Who posts gun pics online anyway? LOL. I can't recall doing it in a long time. Just makes no sense to me really. Not just posting on-line, emails, text messages, Gunbroker searches, CC purchases, etc. Yup. They are tracking everything. What Snowden told us was just the start of the insanity. Musk is developing so much of this kind of tech and it will 100% be used in a bad way against the people. Crazy times

Re: Levels of power/destruction based on cartridge

Bullet construction will play a big part in tissue destruction.
Something tells me a 130 Gameking from a 270 Winchester will leave a bigger mess than a 180 Interlock from a 30-06.
Even a 243 with 100 grain Gamekings can make one think a deer was shot with something larger.
Never killed a critter with a Barnes but have heard they wreck lung tissue but the meat itself is normally less bloodshot than something that was shot with a cup and core bullet.

I'm still a pup on the inside.
After moms death last year, older brother and former step father started acting like idgits.....
I didn't like it but somebody had to be the damned adult! Hopefully I grow up to be a nice irresponsible old person.

Re: SA Plains game , summer of 2025

I'm looking at cull hunts in Africa because I have no use for trophies. I guess that comes from growing up in the UK where we went hunting to literally put food on our table rather than for bragging rights. I do like making challenging shots on game, ensuring swift kills and I like to do that a lot. I think we might be ready in about 3 or 4 years but can't get enough info from very knowledgeable people like you. Based on what you know, which countries are a more cost effective option for such a hunt, other than SA? Thanks for the very informative post. Local gun shop goes to a place in the Eastern Cape that has some pretty good cull packages, I'll see what I can dig up this week and post the outfitters name here. I believe they've been there a handful of times and keep going back. I've been over three times and going back again next year. Hoping to just mostly do cull animals as the cost of getting things back has more than doubled in the last handful of years and is getting quite ridiculous.

UPS might be helpful too. They took something to the wrong address. Once I got them on the phone , they got it from the incorrect address and brought it to me.

Re: Ramshot Hunter for 7 mag

IMR 4831 has always been my go to powder for my 1885 in 7Mag. Pushes the 145 Speer Grand Slam at 3150 FPS and flat out numbs critters. The same with the 160 Grand Slam. I don't remember the velocity of the 160's, but it's my favorite west Texas muley load. Next is IMR 4350. As long as I've got those powders, I'll never need anything else.

It seems like they don't port the tubes from these pictures. I should go to their website to see what they say on ports.
Whats your preference on ports? and Why?
