Re: Bought my first can of Kroil !!! las 04/21/24
Eh- I don't use penetrating oils much. My little half-pint? of Kroil lasted me over 5 years. Just ran out, so I mixed up an ounce each of ATF and acetone and re-loaded the Kroil can. No need to mix up a big batch. I can always freshen it with a new shot of acetone.

Doesn't the acetone deteriorate the seal on a mason jar?

That makes no sense. I've never heard of a psychological test being scored like an achievement test with letter grades. Plus, the purpose of those tests is prediction, so after they've been on the job for a time and performed satisfactorily with no problems, the test is more or less moot. Unless there's some sort of "ticking bomb" theory, and that would be a huge stretch of the predictive validity of such tests. Which, by the way, is a major argument against requiring psych. testing of prospective gun owners.

It looks to me like a can of worms for the agency and its govt. Legal liabilities all over the place, including the deputies having a cause of action. A lawyers' field day.

Considerably more that a spitwad's difference, especially RE: the denim/MDF intermediate barrier test, if penetration is king.

- 30% more velocity (1314 fps)
- 70% more energy (536 fpe)
- 37% more penetration (25")

The Hornady Custom 147 gr. XTP .357Sig load - hits at 100 yards, what the 9mm load does at contact range.

I was kind of planning on getting out there today, but it's getting breezy, and forecast is gusting to 37 mph this afternoon. I'll do it on a calmer day, and try to give the rifle/ammo a fair shake.

I was shocked to see how this load progressed in increasing 3-shot "group" size.

The third 3-shot "group" at 50 yards:

The tenth shot is the last one on paper:

The last of that load was wasted into the dirt.
Cannot fully explain this, but it seems that with 0.459" diameter and soft alloy, +1400 fps is too much, in a .458 WinMag.

Smacked with BP in a .45-70 might make a big difference.

Re: LMFAO...Trumps Farting in The Court Room!! UncleAlps 04/21/24
Looks like it's false according to Snopes.com:

Snopes performed its own investigation into whether this rumor passed the smell test but came up short — everything we found could be traced back to either Meiselas or Conway. Because neither of them shared who their sources were, and no major news outlet had covered the supposed flatulence, we have rated this claim as "Unproven."

I got some catching up to do.
First a couple of good loads before showing a shocker.
No scope adjustments, same as last outing, just letting bullets fall where they may at 50 yards:

So a charge of 70.0 grains of AA-2460s is probably going to be ideal for
NEMO loads with 480-500-grain cast bullets at 2150-2200 fps from a 24" barrel.
Make them .461" in diameter and hardcast, for the SAAMI .458 WinMag.

70.0 grains of AA-2460s is about the midpoint of 66.6 to 74.0 grain range recommended for
500-gr Hornady RNSN, for which 74.0 grains yields 2192 fps and 52,864 psi,
3.305" COL , 24" barrel.

70.0 grains, might go down to 69.5 grains to fine tune with hardcast, heh-heh-heh.

New, unused.

$39.00 shipped

Cash (at your risk) check or USPS MO.

Edit: Note the absence of the expander. I removed it to compare the length of a 300 savage expander I was messing with. My bad, I failed to put it back in the 303 sizer. It will be when sold.

I don't disagree with the narrative mentioned.

But when the person saying it feels they have to do some shocking event like self immolation, or a mass shooting to be heard, the message and the person is quickly dismissed as a "crazy".

In fact, the Left will use it as an example of the "twisted Right".... He did nobody any favors. Especially himself.

Exactomundo!

He lost me at the Simpson's... Stupidist show I've ever watched 10 minutes of. I don't do cartoons anyway.

I did make it 1 show and 10 minutes of Seinfeldt. I simply could not believe the full show was that bad as "comedy".

Slow learner sometimes. smile

That's what I was planning on too. Comparing groups with the PA-10, to a Rem 700 rifle that I know is a sub-moa shooter with good ammo.

Sir, Bought the book on your recommendation. Illuminating, yes. Also depressing. Read the first 80-100 pages and stopped. My take away was that they hired a group of amoral people to commit amoral acts leading to building an amoral organization. So, an "intelligence agency" with no morals, no integrity, and no controls. No wonder how we got to the point we are at today...

Re: Arthur the King movie AcesNeights 04/21/24
Mark Wahlberg is, I believe, a good man! He, Sylvester Stallone and Denzel Washington are Christians who have started a movie studio OUTSIDE of the despicable Hollywood sphere. They are going against the evils that has become Hollywood and founding a studio that is NOT woke and doesn’t eschew God!

I wish them ALL the success in the world!

I’ve heard great things about Arthur the King and I look forward to seeing it once it streams. 👍🏼
