Re: PERSPECTIVES REGARDING LEAD BANS

The bullet manufacturers have to be salivating at the prospect that almost all the bullets they sold could become illegal. That instant demand right there. Part of the elitist goal is to make shooting and hunting price prohibitive.
PS - the anti-lead crowd killed most competitive shooting events in Switzerland. This “think of the birds” - none of which actually die from lead poisoning, is just the tip of the wedge for using environmental regulations to shut down shooting ranges and further regulate shooting elsewhere.

That is a truly insightful and very accurate commentary. As the author noted, all great nations come to an end. We (the U.S.) are on a runaway train heading toward disaster and there is no one in the locomotive.

Demanding perfection, ya gonna be like the dog with the bone looking at his reflection in the pool.
He sees a dog with a bone, tries to get that one, too. Ended up with neither.
I agree with posters who say, lets get’em elected, worry about details later.
Leave Mike alone. He’s under enough stress without us throwing rocks at him. Give him a decent majority and see how he operates. He may surprise us.
He’s a smart constitutional scholar and a good man.

Re: LC brass in 308

the LC and LC match is my preferred brass for my M1A. it's kind of a rule of thumb you will load one less grain of powder in LC brass then in normal commercial brass. I have also got to like and IWI brass for the M1A/ AR-10 type weapons. The IWI is a Canadian military brass and it seems to be even heavier than LC brass to get the same basic velocities with the same bullets and powders I load one less grain in the IWI than the LC. the IWI brass is a bit harder to size especially if it ran through machine gun. it can be done I do it with the standard Hornady die but it is screwed all the way down with a slight bit of pressure or even a fair bit of pressure against the shell holder. and then it'll run just fine in the M1A .. Yep. I’ve loaded 42.0 grains of IMR-4064 behind a 168 SMK forever @2600 fps in my M1a. Got this batch of LC LR brass, 2007 vintage and 41.0 grains gets me there now.
