So do we take it, from that statement, that both of you can hold better & shoot smaller groups, or more consistent groups, off hand, one handed at 50 yards, than the gun can do from an RR? MM Of course not. I was talking about the merits of using a Ransom Rest, didn't intend to imply anything concerning my abilities or lack of. Phil I believe he was just pulling our collective tail. When someone says that a given set of conditions is the "worst" you can do, that kind implies that there is the likelihood of some better way. This was his reference to shooting a group from a RR. The only other way to normally shoot a gun is with human hands. So, in my thinking, that implies that the human doing the shooting can do better than the RR can do. Which in my mind, & by TenX's comments, is highly unlikely. Maybe I misunderstood his meaning. MM

Re: Looking for a backyard gun for woodchucks

For anyone interested, I have a really nice Taipan Vet, Gen 1, in .25 that would easily meet your needs. It has a power plenum, Donny FL Tanto moderator, doesn't leak, and a lot of accessories. It is a CZ made rifle. It shoots JSB 33 and the JSB Knockout slugs very well at about 900 fps. I have been planning on posting it on Airgun Nation, but haven't gotten around to it yet. It has the green laminate stock and is the 700mm model. Perfect condition and ready to go. The only reason that I am considering selling it is that it is a bit too much for my backyard. I usually shoot a Brocock Commander XR in .22, as it is more backyard friendly where I live. I am located in North Alabama, but would ship as I have the box. If you're interested, please pm me, and I will send you pics and details. You can find some of my posts as member " Bollweevil" on https://www.airgunnation.com/ Best of luck in your pursuit! Re: First Lefty Rifle - Input Wanted

I ended up winning a gun broker auction on a m77 Hawkeye 270 that looks basically brand new for $625. Still has original box and contents so we will see when it comes in.
Now to search for rings and an optic đź‘Ś
Appreciate everyone's input here Nice score. I think you'll be pleased. The Hawkeye has a more svelte stock than the MKII's. I think that's an improvement. As oldpinecrick stated, it will have the LC6 trigger. While the MKII trigger is not great out of the box, it can be worked to an excellent trigger and is reliable. There were some late MKII's that shipped with the LC6. Hawkeyes early on had a matte finish on the metal that was a little delicate/easy to mar which Ruger then changed to a more durable satin finish. Hopefully, you got the satin finish. MKIIs were polished metal. Other difference is the Hawkeye bottom metal/floorplate is steel with the Ruger bird engraved. MKII's had aluminum floorplates without any engraving, except on the stainless steel MKIIs, which have stainless floorplates sans engraving. Look forward to you posting a report on your acquisistion and welcome to the campfire.

Most everyone knows that Biden is not in charge…..merely a figurehead. Anytime I see that Biden is doing something…….I automatically know that it’s the present powers in DC, and not Biden making the decisions! memtb
