I do not like that many pic rails either. But instead of a MR308 there also several other AR-10 style rifles like OA-10 or R-25 available. If I want to have a fast repeating firearm I get a semi automatic. If I want a very reliable and accurate firearm I choose a bolt action. All those new "inventions" are for marketing purposes.
