I bought mine for hunting elk and it's worked wonderfully for that purpose.

In the 90's I made up my Sako .358 and in 2000, I started archery hunting. The Alaskan hasn't been used since.

Although I kill an elk almost every year ( damage permits ) I just use the .358 or my .270 and they do just fine.
