I think I want to get an arrow cut off saw. I really only cut about 3-4 dozen new arrows a year and another 3-4 dozen I cut short from broken arrows for kids to use.

They shoot these so much for stump shooting and other fooling around. So whats the deal on saws I don't need an expensive pro-shop model, but I don't want a cheap one either.

Weston or Apple. Either one will serve you well. We use the Apple Pro.

I got a basic Apple saw in the Bargain Cave from Cabelas a few years ago. Pretty simple rig with no switch, plug it in and go - and not dust collector. Not what you'd want if you owned a shop but great for the basement. They had it marked down to $80 then game me 30% off of that. Works great for a few dozen arrows each year.

Thats exactly what I am looking for. Some of my arrows, and then plenty for the kids that don't care what they shoot at rabbits and quail. They just shoot what ever they can get their hands on.

Most of my buddies have arrows they cannot use any longer. But cut them to 25" and they work great for a kid that wants to shoot a gazillion times in the field.

It's actually amazing how critical we are as adults about the spine, weight, and length. Yet these kids shoot a ridiculous range of scrap and shoot with incredible success. Of course there are few that shoot beyond 30 yards. These kids are shooting 10 feet to 15-20 yards tops. They will come home with a dozen bull frogs and a couple quail with a few rabbits all with a mix matched length and weight arrows they scrounge up where ever they can. They shoot a hundred times a day at anything that moves, and lose about half of the arrows but they get lots of practice too.

I bought a cheap harbor freight cut off saw and some abrasive disks to cut carbons years ago. No telling how many arrows it's cut but it's been a bunch! I've got no complaints.

I have the same one. Works great.
