Been doing some load development on 2 different 7 mags and they both seem to love this stuff, problem is Ive only got a half a jug left. Does H-1000 pop up on the radar now and again or is it scarce as hens teeth? Ive checked all the suppliers I can think of, and gunbot, but none to be found.

Thanks

So far IMR7977 looks like a reasonable substitute for H1000. 7977 is slightly faster burning in most applications, but definitely slower than H4831, and very temperature resistant.

You can also find 7977 in lots of places, one reason I have around 10 pounds and am testing it in the loads where I've used H1000 in the past (and even somewhere I used H4831). So far it's been very good.

I am sure it goes in manufacturing spurts....

a year ago around Southern Oregon, it was all over the place it seems...

or maybe it was like everything else to do with firearms under the Obama Administration.... you always find what you don't need and nothing that you do need...

Seafire,

The big problem with H1000 availability right now is that it's made in Australia, which compounds the problems caused by shooter panic over Obama. Which is why I'm shooting more IMR4166, 4451 and 7977 these days than H4895, H4350 and H1000. They're made in Canada and far less hassle to get here in quantity.

MD - how about replacements for the Ramshot line? I have some very good loads with Big Game, Hunter and Magnum, but I'm running low and it seems that TAC is the only one being made at the moment. Thanks, and keep up the great work.

H1000 is the Aussie AR2217 and I was told there is a very limited number ir ships licensed to carry powder which adds to the scheduling of global freight.

There's also been a bottleneck at Auckland, NZ, where the Kiwis got nervous about more ships full of powder being in the harbor, due to demand in the U.S. So they set a limit of no more than one powder ship at a time.

There are even problems getting it here in Australia, where GS owners have said that licensing of dangerous goods road freighters is causing problems.

I wouldn't mind betting this has a bit to do with the shortages - getting bulk powder to freight terminals.

Cabelas has it. Just noticed it when I picked up 3 lbs. of BLC-2

Funny thing is the 1st time I looked at the Cabelas site, no smokeless Hodgdon products showed up. Then I accessed it from gunbot, where it shows both out of stock and in stock items. It then said I couldn't order it online. I was in Green Bay yesterday and picked up the BLC-2 at their store for the $22.99 sale price.

Good Luck with the H1000 order.

Not H 1000, but when up in Potlandia this week, stopped into Cabelas store in Tualatin and they had quite a bit of ADI made Hodgdon Powders in stock once again....
