I've got 8lbs of it and try to use it in everything I can;
Will be using Barnes 300 & 350 gr TSX's
Any and all info using those bullets will be greatly appreciated.
PS. Not that it matters, but I giggle like a little schoolgirl every time I squeeze the
Trigger on my 416 Ruger Alaskan😄
Thanks,
Johnny

Well I got the chance today....
Mid blc2 loads hit 2546 avg
Upper blc2 loads hit 2707 avg
Both blc2 loads avg 1-1/4" 3 @ 100yds

Both H4350 loads were based off 375 Ruger
data with same weight bullet and we're both
Mild loads... Avg 2104 and 2163 respectively
Accuracy however was outstanding 1/2" for the
Mildest load and 1/4" for the other.. 2 groups for each load,
3 @100 yds
That's pretty darn good with the Leupold 2.5x8x36 with a German #3
Fairly heavy crosshairs
Just need to work up now

The Woodleigh loading manual has data for their 400gr bullet and H4350. About 100 fps less MV compared to Re15 which is what I like to use.

If you don't mind, can I get the start and max loads for that bullet? It'll help with my work up.
Thanks
Johnny

For the Woodleigh 400gr RN SN bullet:

80.0gr starting load (2070 fps) and 85.0gr compressed maximum load (2210 fps).

The test rifle was a Ruger Alaskan.

I have used H-4350 in my 404 Ruger African (same case with a 0.423" bullet), but prefer Rl-17. The latter's smaller granule size and slower burning rate allows me to use more powder and obtain greater MVs.

Although I had my 375 Hawkeye Alaskan also re-bored to 0.423" I haven't taken it to the range yet. It should prove interesting with 400 grain bullets and a full load of RL-17. In the 23" African my top RL-17 load has a MV of 2416fps with the Barnes 400 grain Banded Solid. smile

83 grains of H4350 hit 2400fps for outstanding accuracy
300gr Barnes TSX. Not the fastest load but 4 3-shot groups
@100yds were all .5" or better!
Bringing this combo up to Newfoundland for moose in Sept.

I've used the 300 gr TSX bullet at 2650 fps MV on moose at close range with excellent results. Here's a recovered bullet -
