Someone on another forum posted that Powder Valley has some 1680, for those who are looking. I was able to buy a jug, first I've been able to find in three years of looking for it. Now I can finally shoot that .17 Hornet without feeling guilty that I'll be unable to feed it later. Such things bother the hell outa me, for some reason, and I won't shoot if I can't replace/reload that ammo. Probably some kind of OCD thing. Now, since I've that nixed, I can finally try to shoot the barrel out of the thing. I use the stuff in my .22 Hornet, too. With a max charge of 13.4gr. that jug of powder will last a long time. The .17 uses even less powder, I think I'm set. If I really want to burn the stuff up, I guess I can use it in my .221 Fireball, too.

Thanks, been looking for some. Lucked out on some Lil' Gun last week; was not up to expectations in my LVSF .221 Fireball.

I didn't have much luck with lil gun in my Cooper .221FB, however it loved 1680. I have a jug en route from midway. I have not started loading my LVSF in .221FB yet, but will start soon. Hopefully it like the same load as the Cooper.
rowdy, have you had any good loads in your LVSF?

Thanks, been looking for some. Lucked out on some Lil' Gun last week; was not up to expectations in my LVSF .221 Fireball. I had some nasty pressure signs with my Fireball and Lil Gun. I'm currently using Reloader Seven for that rifle. It is, perhaps, my most accurate rifle using that powder. I dinked around a bit with 1680 in the Fireball, too, but I REALLY like Reloader 7 in that one. If you have some accuracy issues with the Fireball, try some Re-7, it's dandy in my CZ. I've shot some 1/4" groups with my little bitty lightweight rifle with 40gr. VMaxes, but overall, I like the 50gr. Blitzes and SPSX old-fashioned, cheap to shoot, softpoints. It won't burn up the chronograph, but it'll shoot itty-bitty groups.

Natchez lists 1-pounders right now for $22.59.
Apparently it's spreading. I picked up enough 1-pounders during the past month in local stores to equal a jug.

rowdy, have you had any good loads in your LVSF? Actually, nothing that I'm satisfied with yet. Wanted to run 50-55 grain bullets in contrast to the 40s out of my Cooper. With 50 SBKs and RL-7 I get zero vertical stringing but around 1.5" horizontal regardless of seating depth; with Lil' Gun, 3 shots group nice or even touch, but 2 are always 1-1.5" flyers, almost exactly the same as when I tried the same 40 NBT/RL-7 rounds that I run in my Cooper through it. I'm going to check stock pressure points and action screw torque, etc. in case it's the rifle (have a 2 lb. trigger); also my shooting position and gun location on bag and rest - although all is exactly the same as my cloverleaf-shooting .204 LVSF.
