Took some friends up to therapy a couple weeks ago.

For a couple it was their first time.

Anyhow... we had been plinkin away for a bit trying to get rid of the essence of the "city" when the "new" feller breaks out a pump action Winchester 22 rifle.

Now, I know nothin about rifles but the octagon barrel of this ol' 22 got my attention.

Wasn't long and the offer was made to let me shoot it.

All I can say is wow...

We had a spinning self=healing target at about 25-35 yards. The frame had been hit and it didn't spin anymore and the spinner stood parallel to the ground.

Lined the tiny bead sight on the 3/8" target and dang ...hit it.

Musta been a fluke...

Second time hit it again

Third left tracks on the top

and

Fourth hit it again...

Dang...

What a wonderful rifle that gives a nonrifle shooter a chance to hit such a small target.

If I ever find one in a shop it will be mine... grin

Once upon a time they put good open sights on 22 rifles.

Well...

Kinda embarrassing...

I was told today that the rifle I got to enjoy was not a Winchester it was a Savage 39.

Goes to show what I know about such things grin

Guess the story about it's accuracy has made it around the block a few times.

Sure is a nice shootin lil 22 rifle though as it even makes ol' fardts look good...

Probably a Savage 29. No such animal as a 39. Savage, Winchester, Remington- they were all pretty darn good.

Too funny, guess it's owner isn't sure either... grin

I still think it was a 22 though...
(it is a 22)

Will check it out next time it is at a therapy session.

It is a dandy shooter...

Dunno about current production Rem pumpers but dating back to '60-'70s stuff they shot very well with a wide variety of ammo.
