look at that thing real good, over and especially under. i bought an 05 that had a little rust. inside of 3 years it was friggen rotted through and through. rear fender wells and cab corners are problems on those years in the north.
and i think that price is way too high.

I'm not in that market, so take that in to account with the following. I believe the motor is fine, but the rest of the truck is the issue. Also, it sounds high to me too.

My neighbor has an '04 with a 5 spd. The engine is strong but the truck is getting beat up. Life hasn't been gentle on it, though.

I have an 06 2500 Quad Cab 5.9 - bought it new and have 103k on it. It's been a good truck and I've no desire to replace it with anything else.

I've got an '05 quad cab 4x4 with the 5.9. I've got 114k on mine (owned it since new). The water pump went out at 113k. And, one of the back doors had the electric window and speaker quit working a few months ago. Turned out to be the wiring harness between the door and the cab. Wires got pinched, but an easy fix.
Just pulled a 10k lb 5th wheel 3,800 miles this month with no problems other than the water pump. Fixed that in a NAPA parking lot on the way home. Mine has 4:10 gears and 4spd tranny. It's not chipped or modified in any way, all stock. I get around 18 mpg empty, 14 mpg pulling decent loads and 9 mpg pulling my 5th wheel (65 mph).
I've had no other issues and love it. The only reason why I may consider selling it is for more room in the back seat. Kids were small when I bought it, so no big deal. Boys are both teenagers now. It was a little cramped for them and the dog for that 3,800 mile trip. Would like to have a bigger cab (I bought mine just before the mega cab came out).
I do think that price is high as well.

I've got an 07 5.9 @ 128 and I'd gladly take $24000 with it. Thinking I could, real world get $21,000-22,500.

The megacabs do seem to bring a premium. Still, it would have to be pretty much perfect to get 24K from me.

Not at 24, maybe 18 if the front end was already done.

That's what I thought. It books real high but a Vt truck is a stones throw from a rust bucket. Thanks guys...
