4 out of 5 Great Lakes prefer Michigan.

By real Americans I take it you mean freedom loving conservatives? Sadly even the most conservative states are being run over by mush headed liberals.
What it comes down to is what state can you afford to live in an area with mostly like minded individuals and have sufficient income with minimal taxation to be able to enjoy your life.
You'll have to find the right answer for you, there is no single right answer for evreyone.

What would you consider the best State for a REAL American to live in??? If you find out, let me know. I always thought Idaho would be nice. I hunted there once and loved the country and seclusion, but that was a long time ago. I understand they have been overrun with lieberals, too. If there was a way to clean house on the progressives, or make them progress to Europe, China or the socialist/communist mecca of their choice, real American's would appreciate it. Maybe. But certainly some would bitch.

Agreed. skAnchorage has always been a transient city with too many DSMFs and third-worlders with no real stake in the place. Fairbanks was pretty decent, but in the last 10 years or so has become damn near unrecognizable and is in need of a purge.
