By real Americans I take it you mean freedom loving conservatives? Sadly even the most conservative states are being run over by mush headed liberals.
What it comes down to is what state can you afford to live in an area with mostly like minded individuals and have sufficient income with minimal taxation to be able to enjoy your life.
You'll have to find the right answer for you, there is no single right answer for evreyone.

America needs to understand that our troops are not 'disposable'. Each represents a family; Fathers, Mothers, Sons, Daughters, Cousins, Uncles, Aunts... Our Citizens are our most valuable treasure; we waste far too many.

What would you consider the best State for a REAL American to live in??? If you find out, let me know. I always thought Idaho would be nice. I hunted there once and loved the country and seclusion, but that was a long time ago. I understand they have been overrun with lieberals, too. If there was a way to clean house on the progressives, or make them progress to Europe, China or the socialist/communist mecca of their choice, real American's would appreciate it. Maybe. But certainly some would bitch.
We may know the time Ben Carson lied, but does anyone know the time Hillary Clinton told the truth?
Immersing oneself in progressive lieberalism is no different than bathing in the sewage of Hell.

We may be looking at this all wrong. We need to get them all to move to Ny , Cali and Minn. instead of allowing them to pollute to conservative states. Hasbeen

Agreed. skAnchorage has always been a transient city with too many DSMFs and third-worlders with no real stake in the place. Fairbanks was pretty decent, but in the last 10 years or so has become damn near unrecognizable and is in need of a purge.

That's actually a tough question to answer objectively. I suspect most of us have some bias in our thinking.
For example, I've lived in Oregon my whole life, minus a year in Alaska and a year on the road, and I love the state. But, if you look only at the politics, you would settle elsewhere. To do so would be missing out on a very unique state geographically. I can get away from the crowds and be by myself w/o any trouble, even in hunting season. We have everything from coastal rain forest to high desert to play in.
I will guess that the majority of states are run by the liberal cities, while the country people are similar everywhere you might go. Oregon has this problem. Doesn't mean there aren't a gazillion places to live out your life in peace and quiet.

Based on the past 3 weeks manhunt and residents response to having their lives turned upside down I'd guess that there are no flies in upstate NY. I live in upstate Wisconsin which is a beautiful piece of earth to live in, but am working on moving to western North Carolina, mainly because of family moving there and truly enjoying the beautiful country that exists there. I'm single and retired so no real anchors to keep me here. Have lived in Idaho and loved it there; have thought for many years of moving back to the Rockies, but have been concerned lately with the fires, plus now living near family means more to me than lots of other issues. YMMV.

Visited a friend in Mitchell, SD recently and when I drove into town there was a billboard with the message that there are hundreds of unfilled jobs in Mitchell and new residents are needed.
I'm better when I move.

This isn't a bad question. I am retiring from the military next year and have the whole country to look at.
Though to keep my blood pressure from boiling over, I have decided to make my world much smaller. My country will be what I can immediately see around me.
20 years of service in uniform with seven deployments, voting, and playing by the rules didn't get me the country I was hoping for.
Not giving up, but realizing that I should pay more attention to my immediate community will better serve me in trying to do well for others and my family.
I do know that where I do end up wont have any Section 8 units for miles around. Many, many miles.
The cultural rot with the breakdown of the family, lack of respect for the Constitution, dole suckers.... and the powerful, well entrenched liberal institutions applauding and using its existence to gain more power makes we think that this ship wont get right anytime soon.
Sad, but there are areas that still are holding it together. Just not enough to make that thinking a plurality of the country.

I daily see the scum hippies hitch-hiking to the growing fields along our roadways. Visual 8-9' fences mandatory, and they give the location of grows away. The element that smokes pot I have no use for, but we're being overrun, even more than normal. This is one social experiment that is going to go very poorly for society.

Move to Mexico. Learn to speak Spanish. Find a nice little village that's America circa 1950. Live good on your retirement pay. Escape the empire. http://www.fredoneverything.net/ExpatGuide.shtmlFor what it’s worth, the country seems to appeal powerfully to those who want to be left the hell alone. The United States tries to control your every move, thought, and minute. Here in Mexico, unless you break a major law or do something awesomely stupid, the government isn’t much interested in you. This lack of interest is perhaps government’s greatest virtue.

What would you consider the best State for a REAL American to live in??? I'd at least start with a state that you're not paying silly property taxes in. That aside, I would most certainly start with a state where you are not paying income tax to help the likes of Cuomo and Brown further their anti-Constitution agenda.

There is something to be said for living simply in a less afluent country. I've been debating geting a sailboat and being a gypsy of the sea. Going mobile on a global scale. At times there is something to be said for not having a country.

In case anyone hasn't noticed, the U.S.A. is in a damn steep nosedive. I don't have enough time left on earth to make it worth the trouble, but if I thought I had 25 years or more left, I'd get the fug out of this place.
If you're a conservative Caucasian, the U.S.A is going to be a damn hostile place to be pretty soon.

Guess we can rule out Oklahoma. Why do so many hate God and this country? I've been reading ALOT of the comments to articles such as the one below and ones dealing with the flag issue, racism, and such. http://www.fredoneverything.net/Guad.shtmlI was in Tommy's Bar the other day when a horse stuck its head in the door. The owner knew Tommy and wanted to talk to him. The horse apparently wondered what was inside, and stuck its head in to look. It seemed reasonable. It was how I would have done it.
If you even rode a horse in Washington, you'd need three permits, a parade license, turn signals, and a horse diaper. The paperwork alone would require help from an accounting firm. They'd x-ray the horse for explosives. It would probably mutate and turn into a huge gurgling cephalopod.
In Mexico, you get on a horse and point it where you want to go. Nobody gives a damn. It's a horse.
A lot of things work that way in Mexico. I was in a restaurant on the plaza when a woman came in with her dog. It curled up under the table and occasionally cadged bits of enchilada. It's what dogs do. It's OK. In the US, people keep dogs in their houses for years and nobody dies.
If the same dog came into a restaurant in Arlington, a SWAT team from Public Health would storm the place in funny-looking gas masks, confiscate the dog for analysis, and seal the premises for forty years. The United States can't tell a pup-dog from the Black Death.

Seems reasonable enough. A cheap hotel, somewhere. Whatever Mexico´s faults, and God knows they are legion, it hasn´t yet been completely swallowed by Hodiday Inn. It´s still Mexico. And for twenty bucks a night, I can´t kick.http://www.fredoneverything.net/00Uncle%20Fred's%20Mexico/UFM%20Columns/OutandAbout.shtml

This entire thread is about trying to dodge the effects that is happening in our country....
instead of running away from it all, we need to start grouping and fighting this crap at every turn....
all of these leftist liberals are really small in numbers.. they are just loud because they have big mouths....
and the people in the middle that follow them only do so, because they are paid off by given welfare, not having to work, and the legalization of drugs...
The Welfare Spickett needs to be turned off, drugs made illegal and their abuse taken seriously and laws enforced, and people put in a position that they have to be responsible for themselves, our borders have the welcome matt removed, and immigration laws enforced....
Criminals need to be prosecuted and jailed....
This country is the way it is, because as the saying goes... "Evil comes when good men do nothing"... Good men have done nothing but stand down for the last 30 plus years....

Ya want cheap motel rooms, right on the Colorado river? Loaded up the Harley in the pickup, and spent a week or so there when it's freezeazz cold here several times. River view rooms midweek are a real bargain, and weekends ain't bad. Ride your scooter in a tee shirt in the winter. Laughlin

90% of the members here on the freakshow would be miserable anywhere they moved, just because they log on here every day.
I replace valve cover gaskets every 50K, if they don't need them sooner...

Any state where you have low taxes, strong 2nd Amendment support, and conservative values. Alabama would be a strong contender for that.
Beware of thieves, scammers and dishonest members on the "Fire" classifieds. Ya there is a thief here too. Whatever!!
They're all around the CampFire and everywhere.

y'all are gonna change your lifestyle drastically or be outlaws.
neither is a bad choice.
I'm pretty certain when we sing our anthem and mention the land of the free, the original intent didn't mean cell phones, food stamps and birth control.

Stay out Wyoming at all costs, you will not be happy here. Winters are long and cold, they start about the 20th of August and last until around the 1st of June. Summer is usually the 7th of July and maybe the morning of the 8th. The wind blows incessantly, 24-7, a calm day is when you can keep your hat on your head without a chin strap. There are no cultural events like cello recitals, gay poetry readings or book signings by liberal activist movie stars. This is due to the fact the natives HAVE no culture, they are all a bunch of beer swilling, tobacco spitting, gun toting ignorant rednecks to whom getting dressed to go out to dinner means a clean pair of jeans and a shirt that's been ironed , and never mind the cow manure on the boots. We have been "discovered" by Californians, refugees from Seattle and Portland, along with a whole herd of citified folks from Back East. This has driven real estate prices out of sight, I just last week saw a 1/4 acre lot with an outhouse and a wall tent go for $350,000. Fishing and hunting truely suck, you cant wet a line or walk in the woods without getting run over by a 4-wheeler with a Colorado license plate. Plus, there’s a real good chance you will perish in the volcanic explosion of the Yellowstone caldera. No, better you should go to Montana, I hear it's real nice up there.

I am more than pleased with my selections of the Texas Hill Country and the far north Idaho panhandle from where I type on my iPhone.

Doesn't mean there aren't a gazillion places to live out your life in peace and quiet. People tried to do that in Ye Olde Soviet Union and they were hunted down because they were heretics for avoiding communism. Is your remote septic system fully EPA approved? Are your home-schooled children being taught DOE approved fa(g)gotry in the right measure?? And on, and on...... It's coming here, to all 50 state, and sooner than we expect. As long as FedGov pays their various goon-squads the torture will continue.

I am more than pleased with my selections of the Texas Hill Country and the far north Idaho panhandle from where I type on my iPhone. I'm thinking Ed's on to something here. It's not a bad idea to look at where a guy hangs his hat who's worked in so many different places around the world. As for me I'm headed back to the Texas Hill Country as soon as I retire.

Homosexuals and their agenda have been making "progress" in this country for at least 50 years. Any opposition has been met with charges of hatred, just like racial criticism is met with racist epitaphs. The supreme idiots codified perversion and made it "acceptable".
We may know the time Ben Carson lied, but does anyone know the time Hillary Clinton told the truth?

I guess it's looking like were screwed no matter where you are, However, I really enjoyed Texas while I was stationed there back in the 80's. We need to have an open season on Liberals. Seafire is right but we would never be able to get enough people with the balls to accomplish it. Not in this day and age anyway.

Sadly, I have no answer. The west holds all the experiences that appeal to me, but the sparse rural populations have no chance against one or two dominant cities in each instance. Carry those cities in an election, and one controls the state.

That's why I think we - those of us seeing the demographic handwriting on the wall - should lean our efforts toward separating individual states, not trying to separate whole states from "these United" ones. The latter won't fly. The former just might have a chance.
Gunnery, gunnery, gunnery. Hit the target, all else is twaddle!

Thing is, when we learn to stop looking for corners of the country to hide in, and instead look at liberalism as a country wide problem, we will be fighting liberals on their own terms. Most of you surely have learned liberals won't hesitate coming to find you, no matter how deep in the woods you go.
