I am getting ready for some lighter backpacking trips this summer (1-nighters, 10-15 mi) and a pronghorn trip this fall into walk-in only areas where we'll quarter our animals and bring em to the car on our backs.

I am also planning on backpack hunts and would like a modular system that is lightweight and allows me to buy in bits and pieces as I go as I don't have a lot of money right now.

I was thinking of this combo:

First, the Eberlestock Mainframe F1 ($170) w/ the Superspike Duffel ($60). This will cover me for my immediate needs (this summer) and with an accessory bag ($50) for spotter for this fall. In the future I'll add the Transformer ($190) for extended trips and as a detachable daypack.

Anyone with firsthand experience w/ this system? Thoughts?

Thanks a lo!
