I have an old rimfire Winder musket that has been converted to .25-20 wcf. It was a project someone else started and I bought and finished. It finished out alot nicer than I thought it would and I shot it yesterday with some cast reloads. I have a 1-4x Leupold Scope on it now, but have located a Marble tang sight that I have installed also. I used the original tang thru bolt and it engages about half the threads in the the lower tang now. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could locate a longer tang screw. I've done internet seaches and haven't had alot of luck, but I'm not the most savy old man when it comes to the internet. Also there isn't a gas vent drilled in the old rimfire block, it has had a plug installed and the original firing pin converted to centerfire. Wondering if anyone with more knowledge than I do thinks a gas vent is worth the trouble of drilling. Thanks for any consideration on the subject, this seems to be the best source of Winchester information I've found over the years on such subjects, Chuck.
