Far as I can tell they don't share the same habitat or compete with mourning dove but whatever, I'll shoot em on sight. I've heard they taste like morning dove but bigger. Sounds like an OK deal to me.

Ol' Jim came out to the ranch to zero his Cooper 204. After getting his turrets set on steel, he promptly knocked one over at 580 yards. Happy as a kid....

Yea,,, they've had em over in Lewiston for a few years now but I hadn't seem around here until this year. I'm not sure about not sharing habitat with Mourning Doves though. Ours gravel on the same road and Roost in the same trees as the MD that have been here for years. Only thing I know for sure is they're dumber than chit. We see em graveling almost every day on our walk to the mail box. They'll wait till the last minute to fly when the dogs get after em and then simply fly to the lowest and closest limb handy. Our wild birds would never let the dogs get that close. I'm actually surprised they haven't caught one yet.

Had a great place to go for dove a few years back that had both. Collared were easy to shoot compared to the mourning doves my buddy and I both limited on the MD and almost as many ECD each. A couple of pigeons into the mix made for a great grilling experience along with the shooting.
No fear, no doubt, all in, balls out.

Hit at least 13 last few days, the bulk of the mounds in the back yard are drying up. The ones in the front yard are smarter.

Nash, one of our buddies, and I went doggin' a couple days ago, but unfortunately some contractors were laying water lines on the dog town and there were lots of cattle around, so we ended up shooting more rocks than anything.

That is a nice cat.. You eat catfish?? Some I have had is excellent.. My wife is used to walleye and panfish, she claims she can't eat catfish... I always thought it was pretty good, but never had it very often..

Wyo, I love eating catfish, but not ones that big. Too watery. And flatheads are by far the best eaters, but we don't have them here. I like eating about the 10"-15" ones best. Don that's a brute! Thanks Ingwe.... It was the 3rd time we'd seen that fish, had hooked him a couple days earlier but he got off, then a few minutes before we landed him Nash was pulling in a smaller cat and the big one was attacking it. Mebbe we'll catch him again.

Here's an 85 lb blue cat a buddy of mine pulled out of the Ohio several years ago... He also caught a 105 lb blue later and got the whole fight on film, but he lost the film.

I always thought it was pretty good, but never had it very often.. I love eating catfish. One of the best tasting fish out there IMO. When I lived in Maryland I'd fish for them 3 or 4 times a week all summer long. Next time you have some don't tell your wife SCHIT! Just fry it and tell her it's walleye. She'll love it. Travis
