It's been a great elk killer for me, based on a pre 64 M70 action/lilja/legend stock....180 TTSX's @3050 seem to work quite well..

Nice 'bou and elk you killed with the .300 H&H.

Had a Push-feed M 70 in .300 H&H. cool

Then I traded it for something else. frown

Should've kept it.

Now I'm uber confused .... I thought pf M70's were the biggest load of crap made ever?? Nevermind Charlie Sisk uses/d them as a basis for his customs ..... wink

Happy Days

Sounds fantastic. One nice thing about the 700 is the action is long enuff for the H H w/o crowding the COAL.

26 or 24 is personal preference IMO. I wouldn't want 22.

Congrats and Good Hunting.

If your heart is set on being identical to your STW, cut it to whatever the STW barrel length is. Otherwise leave it if it balances, cut it if it's muzzle heavy, or leave it alone if it's close enough.

This one shoots Nosler Trophy Grade 180 Accubonds into one hole pretty consistently. It may be my most accurate rifle. I need to take it hunting.

Nope...I sold it when I quit hunting elk...the one in the pic above is my last one.
Not hunting anything these days that requires that big of a gun....thankfully I got all that out of my system...
