I'd happily take a little less "breathable" and more "protection" from my rain gear grin What you can't see in the pic was that my baselayer was completely soaked over a much larger area as I think it wicked water away from the green pants seen in the pic. I was close to my vehicle so wasn't too concerned even though I was getting chilled to the bone.

I figured the Stormfront was too good to be true even with claims of guides living in theirs. Was worth a shot for 50% off though.

Bummer. But on the bright side - better you than me smile

I get tempted every year to try the newest and coolest rain gear. Then I remember that the pants, especially just can't hold up. Impertech gets trashed too, but at least it is cheap.

Impertech, Grundens, and Peter Storm are staples. Mind need some repairs or replaced. But even so, they don't leak anywhere near as bad those Sitkas grin

Looks like the Cruiser has been discontinued? I don't see it on the Westcomb website.

Yup like anything good I like they quit making it. But eVent she'll with pit zips under a pound is nice. Like CWH I trash my bottoms too quickly so I go with marmot precip rain pants off STP for an extra 40% off usually comes to about $60 per pair.

I read it too. The article by Matt Wymer. He stated, "The one constant? I never got wet utilizing the Stormfront."

Did I miss something?

Gonna try out a Rab Myriad jacket and my old Helly Hansen pants in Alaska in a few weeks. Looking forward to it.

I've got mine in hand, seems pretty good but haven't actually tested it yet.

Pretty good price here: http://www.backcountry.com/rab-myriad-jacket-mens
