At Cabela's.

The least expensive .22 LR ammo that I've seen since shortly after the Newtown, CT, grade school shooting on 12/14/12.

They also had some expensive Remington/Eley in 50 round boxes and cartons of SK, but I didn't catch which kind.

Hoping that this will be good plinking ammo, as the only cheap ammo that I still have lots of is Mexican-made (purple box) Eley Club that is, to say the least, inconsistent.

I like it ... bought many thousands of rounds of it before the stoopid hit. Paid $12.88 a brick when it was on sale and seemed to be on sale every other month .... still have 5-6 bricks ... gettin' low laugh

I bought 3 cases of the stuff in the early 2000's for, are you ready?, $7.90 a brick. That's $79 a case of 5,000.

When I got my first chronograph in 1997 I took it to the range and shot about 5 or 6 different brands of 22LR that I had lying around over it to familiarize myself with how to use a chrono. When I was reviewing all the data I noticed that the CCI Blazer stuff had the most uniform velocity, (lowest extreme spread). I already liked the Blazer stuff because it shot so well in several .22's. Some .22's had a preference for other ammo but on average the Blazer turned out to be my choice for all around general purpose use. That's when I started to pick up a brick if it happened to be on sale. I've had as much as 8 or 10 bricks but usually less. Down to about 5 bricks now and haven't bought any in a couple years. Don't shoot as much now so that should last me a good number of years; and I can't recall ever having a dud with CCI Blazer in any of my guns; rifle or pistol.

I stocked up around that time also, Blazer, Win Wildcat, Fed Lighting. Fed 36gr bulk packs, etc. Paid $0.59 to $0.79/50 on sale. Been LMAO at the prices the scalpers are asking. The only thing I am running a little short on is Win PP 40 gr HP but picked up 2 100/boxes at Cabelas for $10 each.

I'd always passed up the Blazer stuff on the shelf until last fall. My son's hunter safety course was held at a shooting range early last fall so I had 2 evenings to kill. One session I spent running about 11 or 12 different ammo types through my Remington 504. Everything from hyper velocity stuff to target and subsonic loads. To my surprise when I measured the groups at the end of the night the blazer was the best shooting ammo I'd tried - and also likely the cheapest! I still prefer mini mag 36 gr hp but blazer isn't half bad.
