They shiot as well as they were assembled.
This vague question is constantly being thrown around. Of you want a guarantee, but one.
I've had over 20 in the past few decades, they all generally worked, and generally shot about the same as any other factory rifle. The QC sucks and they tend to let some real turds out now and then. A few years ago they had what can only be described as corrugated bores. Currently they are having an issue with short chambered Creedmoor rifles.

They generally need a little tweeking to one thing or another.

I looked at one today (FCP-SR) it looked good, but the stocks leave a lot to be desired.

I have a 116 in 30 06. It shoots 3shots at .85 and this after trying several bullets and powder. Is it an 800 yard gun? Not likely. Can I shoot an elk or deer at 500? Yes. The nicest thing about this rifle is that the first and second shot are together, no cold bore issues. That is huge to my way of thinking. With the accu stock, it is important to torque the screws to factory specs to get the best accuracy.

Last time I RTFM, there was no factory spec for the stock. That is an internet invention.

No it's not. I have the owners manual and it says to torque the screws in the accu stock to 40lbs,and gives the sequence to do it in. I messed with it, going tighter and it didn't shoot as well. Followed the owners manual, and the group tightened back up. It's finicky, bot when properly tuned, the pillar bedding system works well. Page 31 in the manual that came with my rifle.

A 31 page manual with a rifle? Wow. I do know Savage had some trouble with rifles chambered in .300 RUM. I won't own a Savage. mtmuley

I've had a couple Savages and loaded for a couple others. No issues with them. And I currently have a FCP-K in .308 that I've gone 3 for 3 on pushpins at 100yds and 5 for 5 on clay pigeons at 300 meters. It'll do.

I own 3 Savage rifles.
2 are basically ragged one-holers at 100 yards.
1 is 1/2 in to 3/4 at 100 yrds.
I'm happy with mine.

I have 6 of them and they all shoot very well. BUT. Savage just about gurantees that if you work the bolt slowly as in bench shooting about half of the empty cases wont eject. I bought my first one in 1979 and my last one 2 weeks ago and they act exactly the same. ED K

You are definitely correct about this. Feeding is very similar as well. Run the bolt fast and it feeds well. Run it slow and shell doesn't feed into the chamber...It usually jams up against end of the tenon. It's one reason I can't trust Savage to hunting duties. Tikka, on the other hand doesn't care. Fast, slow does not matter in terms of feeding and ejection. It has eyes.

Have 2. The Model 112V in .220 Swift is a bug-holer w/Fed prem 55gr V-max. 5x20 Nikon Monarch.

The new Model 16 lightweight hunter is .90 w/Rem coreloks and .72 w/ Fed Fusions, both 140 gr. 3x9 Zeiss conquest. Liking it more and more. The above groups are 4 shot grps, the 5th shot is a flier, though.

One of my character flaws is that, once I get a dud, I never go back. I had a LRPV that needed a barrel replaced (which Savage did, quite promptly, I must say) and then, once it shot reasonably well, the factory target accutrigger started acting up a lot. I guess you just can't make a trigger out of sheet metal and expect it to work for a couple of thousand rounds. Just my bad luck, I guess.

The best groups I have ever got were with Savage rifles I put bull barrels on, Sav 99 6mmBR and Sav 110 223.
