I was wondering if i sent some pics of my rifle somebody could post them I would like to see if anybody can Identify the stock maker and the engraved trigger guard and floor plate.I know by the serial number it was made in 1957. Thank you in advance If you can do this for me.

Haven't a clue, but it's a nice touch on a pretty rifle.

If it were mine, I'd replace the tired, likely aftermarket pad and lose the white spacer.

The stock appears to be like the HVA 3000 Crown Grade (made from 1954 to 1972), but the folding rear sights are more like the HVA 7000 Imperial Lightweight (made from 1968 to 1970).

Looks like you have a very nice rifle.

The engraved bottom metal is not like the aluminum bottom metal that many of the HVA 1640 rifles came with. Is yours aluminum or steel? What is the barrel length and caliber?

I picked it up from an older gentlemen in his eighties that was starting to slim down his collection. He told me he had bought it in southern mi in 1994 and that was all he knew on the history of it. The trigger is fantastic on it I would say around 2.5 with no creep. I was going to replace the scope and mounts but the more I looked through the old burris setting in the old redfield mounts I have decided to leave it as is. I have thought about replacing the recoil pad. Thanks again tc1 for posting pics.

Sharp rifle.. HVA's were very popular in my area in the 60's..

Barrel length is 23.5,bottom metal is steel and it is in 270 win the bolt also matches the rifle has the last 4 digits of serial number on it.

Those spiral patterns on the bottom metal engraving remind me of some other fancy Husqvarna factory enhancements, I bet that gun came from the factory like that.

Those type floor plates were popular 40 or 50 years ago..have a few myself
I was told they were sold as an accessory and some mfg used them. One of mine is on a Mauser 3000 the other is a 98 and look like they were made about the same...

Thanks for responses so far guys I can say one thing about this rifle it is not a lightweight I would say it weighs around 10 pounds. Does anybody have instructions on taking the bolt apart I found it on another websight but for some reason cannot open up the instructions.

Just go to YouTube and type mauser bolt disassembly Follow the instructions and disregard the parts where they talk about the safety. It's the same bolt for the most part.

It'll be nothing more than pulling the spring loaded cocking piece back and unscrewing the bolt off the shroud.

Paul, with the bolt closed - and the rifle cocked, there should be a small hole visible in the cocking piece.

Simply insert a small metal pin (I use a small Allen wrench) in the hole. The pin must be long enough to hold the cocking piece - which holds the firing pin- against the bolt shroud so that the firing pin is held back. Remove the bolt from the action. Then disassemble the bolt by depressing the spring loaded plunger and unscrewing the cocking piece along with the firing pin and bolt shroud from the bolt body.

Thanks guys I want to get her all cleaned up have not been able to even shoot it yet I am caretaking my mother who has dementia. I just love the quality of the older guns this one pulls up so nice I can't wait to be sitting out in the woods with it on a cold november morning.

Paul, I have no information on the rifle. But agree that it looks sharp. I also agree with keeping the original Burris scope if it is functioning properly and holding zero. Good snag !
