And have no idea what to reload. I'm thinking 140-158 SWC's....have over 4 lbs of SR 7625 I want to use.
Anyone have loads for these revolvers? CCI 500/550 primers
And a bullet source, please!

Missouri Cast Bullets, Montana Bullet Works and Beartooth Bullets to name a few. I cast my own but these are all good companies from what I've read.
I've not used 7625 for the 357. I really like the old Keith load of a 170 grain SWC over 13.5 grains of 2400 with a Small magnum pistol primer.

I've been loading 5.0 gr Unique, under a 170 gr cast Keith SWC in 38 Spl cases.
I sourced the bullets from Western Bullet Co.

MontanaMarine's load is a great load. I've shot lots of 38 Special with that same load.

Well, if for some reason this old SR 7625 doesn't work I'll be looking for powder. Just ordered bullets from Missouri Cast bullets.
I don't think these rounds will avg 20-21 cents each and that beats hail out of the buck apiece I just spent on factory.

Buy yourself a good mold (RCBS 38-150-KT is mine) and you can shoot them for less than a dime a piece if you don't count your time.

I just got done doing up about 3500 38 specials, 158 gr lead SWC's and 158 gr lead Round nose flat points, 3.5 gr of titegroup and a wsp or cci sp primer, averaging 885-890 fps out of a couple 4' smiths. accurate enough for play and light field use. Seems 38s are about the most shot around here, even in the mags as not much requires full house loads and it was easier on my ears.
Bullets came from SNS casting. $70/1000. very good quality and offer bulk discounts. above load gives 2000 rounds to a pound of powder. makes a very economical load. HP 38/241 also shows alot of promise

Alright, sounds like a plan. I want reduced loads in 357 mag brass and some old loading manuals show I can get around 900-1000 fps with 5 grs or so of SR 7625 and 158 swc.

Sounds mild enough to be easy shootin and fast enough to hunt some ctitters or just reach out some distance for stump and rock shootin.

Had good luck with PowerPistol and 125XTP's in my sons Security Six. 8-9 grains Wish I had your SR7625 it was my favorite for low pressure shotgun loads in Damascus side by sides...they stopped making it

Yea, the can of SR 7625 dates from 1986! Just opened it and poured some out and it is in excellent shape. Also have a 5 lb of SR 4756 from 1984, still excellent!! Takes me back to my skeet shooting days with those two. Got lucky I guess, they both work for the 357.
The guns I picked up are Smiths, a 66-2 and a 586. Mint

two loads that I have been using for many years. 140 grain Sierra JHP over 13 grains of SR4756 158 grain Speer JHP over 15 grains of 2400
Both work fine out of 3 inch or longer barrel. Never tried them in a snubbie.

Hey Sam, I have one snubbie and never shoot it. Stays in the house. These 2 Smiths are a 4" and a 6"
I almost got the 140's, instead I got 158's.

2400 works great, but seems to be a little dirty. I also like accurate No. 7. Cleaner burning.

Every one in awhile I'll see 'em online for around 35 cents when you buy a thousand. $17.50 per box. I believe last ones were Fiochi brand and had 3 or 4 misfires in each box through a SW 69 Combat magnum. Very disappointing.

Update to the SR 7625 powder kicking 30 years old, AWESOME!
5.5 grains 158gr SWC from Missouri Bullets (18's) and CCI 550 primers.
Very mild with no leading.

SR 7625! It's got nothing to do with your .357 but I loved that stuff for 16 ga dove & quail loads back when; SR 4756 for pheasants. Thanks for the memories.
