In case anybody is interested in picking up an octagon barreled 38-55, I just listed mine on GunBroker. It's auction 497563548 and is a true auction, $.01 start and no reserve. On oldotter's list of collector classifications, it's definitely not a #1, but B's in 38-55 don't come along all that often and it's a placeholder till you find that #1.

Thanks LBK. I was REALLY pleased with the outcome, to say the least.  It was the first time I've tried a "true auction" on Gunbroker, starting at $.01 and no reserve. I just felt this was the gun to do it with, and it worked. yooper
