Have a friend that has been hunting hogs off the bench at 800 yds. Kim uses a 300 RUM with the LR 210 Accubonds. He wants to move his bench to 1000 yds from the feeder. I'm looking at Alan Warner's new solid copper bullets. I will chamber and throat an 8 twist Shilen with a 27" length. Simple rifle, 700, McMillan stock, Shilen trigger, and waiting on a Swarovski X5 scope in 3.5X18. Bullets are 198 grain with a 780 G1.
Pictured below is the Warner bullet next to the Accubond.

Yes, Kim will have to shoot them single shot.

Seems like a lot of $ output for pigs.

210 Accubonds are great. Ain't my money. Probably $1000 less the scope. Kim being in the Gunshop business can make a profit when he wants to build another.

Sounds like a pretty good way to put in a couple of hours... a comfy seat, a few beers and a dead pig or two who never saw where it came from.

You are correct, but I wound them so they wander off. I don't like to clean them.

I've got a bunch of the 190 ablr's but haven't found any 210's yet. ID like to try the 210's in my 300 wsm. I shot a decent mule deer buck last year at 280 yards with a 208 amax and didn't get an exit on a broadside lung shot. I'm hoping the 210's will fly like the 208's but maybe hold together just a bit more.

I just picked up my first box of berger 215 hybrids so I'll see how they shoot soon. If they fly good maybe I'll run one through an elk this fall. I like all these new high BC options out now for 30 cals.

butchlambert1, no hunter should ever wound an animal on purpose. Every animal you shoot at should be killed as fast as possible. Why would you want an animal to walk around in pain for a long period of time? You should reassess why you would actually do that.

Well, if they run off, you don't have to pick them up at the feeder! I don't think that he may know the difference between a hit and a miss on a lot of shots.

Don't blame Butch, he is not doing the shooting! Butch is just reporting on the build!

Maybe the customer could use that bullet to shoot a 10 lb block of that tannerite at 1000 yards and blow the hog up like you can find in some You Tube video's.

Then he is writing in a way that I clearly do not understand. But where I come from 'I' pretty much refer to the person himself.

The message received is the message!

I'm think of building a 338 Ultra Mag on my left hand 700 i never use. I'm thinking of using either a Number Seven Shilen or a Lilja Remington Varmint Contour SS Match Barrel . The load i will use will start with the Hornady 285 gr A-Max with Retumbo. I have both the 338 RUM and the 300 RUM in Left Hand SS 700's, but thinking of keeping the 300 in Sporter Weight. If i build i will use the Super Sniper 10x with Mil Reticle and Mil Adjustments on this build. Butch the rifle you are building should get the job done. Post photos when you are done. As far as hogs are concerned , people poison them every day and let them go of and die a painful death. People have no sympathy for pigs these days.

A Doe walks out of the woods today and says, that is the last time I'm going to do that for Two Bucks.
