How have you been? I was just in NY playing hockey last weekend, had some quality time at the lake, and am hitting South Dakota for a few weeks in August. Summer hasn't sucked so far. Lots of little-guy time.

not much. You can use a scope on your muzzle loader during muzzle loader season if you're over 60. Quotas are updated. I'll read more when I get a paper copy.

I have never used a scope on a muzzle loader since I started hunting with one some 35 years ago. I have never missed a deer I shot at with a muzzle loader.To me using optics kinda takes away from the essence of using a front stuffer.
But then I am a set in my ways, opinionated, stuffy old phart.

I run my ML in firearms season because I hunt in slug zone. My smokeless one is capable of 45-70 ballistics give or take.

Tzone, I do think you can get a permit of sorts in MN to run a scope on MZL. I think the catch is that it has to be a zero magnification scope?
Does that sound right? Anyone?

yes,a 1 power scope ,or red dot. all you need to get a permit,is if you need bifocals. get the eye exam,have your doctor fill out the form,send it in. presbyobia is the term,I believe. Ive had the permit for about 10 years now. lucky me.

well if anyone needs/wants a scope I have one I got because SD allowed them 1x magnification. it was cool for a season, but I couldn't grow to love it. it's a sightron S2 with rings if anyone is interested.
can you guys use sabots, shotgun primers and all that too?
