REPORT: JON STEWART TOOK SECRET TRIPS TO WHITE HOUSE DURING KEY MOMENTS OF OBAMA PRESIDENCY.

Late-night funnyman and Daily Show host Jon Stewart reportedly took several secret trips to the White House to consult with President Obama before key moments in the president’s tenure.

According to Politico, Obama requested Stewart visit the White House for coffee during the October 2011 budget fight, and again requested the comedian’s presence shortly before issuing a warning to Russia on Ukraine.

Politico’s Darren Samuelsohn reports:

Jon Stewart slipped unnoticed into the White House in the midst of the October 2011 budget fight, summoned to an Oval Office coffee with President Barack Obama that he jokingly told his escort felt like being called into the principal’s office.

In February 2014, Obama again requested Stewart make the trip from Manhattan to the White House, this time for a mid-morning visit hours before the president would go before television cameras to warn Russia that “there will be costs” if it made any further military intervention in Ukraine.

To engage privately with the president in his inner sanctum at two sensitive moments — previously unreported meetings that are listed in the White House visitor logs and confirmed to POLITICO by three former Obama aides — speaks volumes about Stewart and his reach, which goes well beyond the million or so viewers who tune into The Daily Show on most weeknights.

Love Stewart’s jokes or hate them, he has proven to be a unique voice who is capable of turning in-the-weeds policy discussions into viral video sensations that the country is still talking about the next morning.

As the White House recognized, Stewart can, at times, be a more potent influence on policy than Obama himself. The 52-year-old funnyman is widely credited with changing how the government treated military veterans and Sept. 11 first responders and for canceling a hyper-partisan CNN talk show. His broadsides against President George W. Bush’s Iraq war and a series of Obama missteps had a searing effect on how Americans thought about Washington.

Zero's base is the majority of this country.

Yes, people listen to him.

Yea, what a horrible prick John Stewart must be, changing the way veterans were being treated- Can't imagine anybody whose moral code would tolerate that. Thank god we have men with integrity like the little toe sucking Dick Morris to balance things out.

Fred-
I think that says more about this administration than it does about Stewart.

First being a veteran that was a lot more fortunate than many veterans, the topic of veterans is kind of near and dear to my heart.
And, as far as the Obama administration goes, these poltroons that come in here and post blather do the Obama Administration more good than harm by taking attention away from some of the worst things they have let happen, like the banks corruption in Porto Rico that have bankrupted the country, and Eric Holders turning a blind eye towards those banks. Also, the Obama administration, like every Democratic and Republican administration is wound up tight in bed with the banking businesses, and that is one of the root causes of what's going on in this country. For example, the banks are making a substantial amount of money laundering the drug money from the drugs that come across the border, and that is one of the many reasons you won't see border control, under ANY administration.
One thing that I have a difficult time abiding is hypocrisy and people that are more loyal to a political party than they are to their own country. Let me tie that together- The people that tolerate and even applaud actions when one party is in office, then scream in righteous indignation when the next president does the same thing as though their sense of propriety has been offended.

Hey, that's wonderful. How about starting a new thread instead of crapping on this one?

Politico gave Stewart way to much credit for the veteran treatment.
He's Pathetic liberal hipocrite, just sold his two homes for $17.5 million, (paid like $5.5 million for them) has a net worth near $80 million.
Yeah he really cares for the peons.

He's a whiney little b-i-t-c-h .
