They left "Ray's Tavern" in Green River, Utah out of the competition. They would have won. Check it out as you wander down I-70, just before "The Swell".

That then would be the only good thing about Green River, Utah.

I can't imagine anything tasty enough to get be back to Green River.

Wahlburg and his brothers are now in the biz.

Wonder if disco daddy Mark and Wahlburgers intend to put his giant fake boogie nights foot long porno dog on the menu?

Innovation Brewing and Cosmic Carry Out
414 West Main Street, Sylva, NC 28779

Right on the creek. If you can't find a beer you really love at the brewpub, then you don't like beer. If you can't find a burger you like at the Cosmic wagon, then you don't like burgers. They'll make them any way you want, with hand cut big, thick fries. They're starting to branch out and putting several other things on their menu.

Here's a tip: Get yourself a flight inside. Make sure to include at least 1 peanut butter beer, if they have it. Proceed to wagon. Order up a huge burger. Sit out on the deck overlooking the creek. This doesn't suck.

When we passed through there last year, it appeared that Ray's was no more.

Can anybody confirm? Still in business or not?

Paul

I'll agree that Whataburger is the best "fast food" burger in TX. Beats the crap out of Micky D's, BK, Wendy's, and the others any day of the week.

Lots of Mom & Pop Burger joints are better here in TX, though. Fran's in Austin, Storm's in Lampassas, the Dixie Chicken in College Station, and Mary's in Strawn.

As far as 5 Guys and In & Out Burger, they suck IMO, and are highly over-rated and over priced, too.

5 Guys is pricy if you go alone or don't pay attention ordering. Their smallest fries are big enough for 3. Their standard burger is 1/2 lb.

Go into any McDonalds, Wendy's or BK and order their 1/2 lb burger, largest fries and drink and the price is just about the same. And you get all the roasted peanuts you can eat free at 5 guys.

My wife and I can go into 5 Guys, order the 1/4 lb burger and share an order of fries for about $1 more than a comparable meal at typical fast food burger joints.

Steak & Shake is the value leader. A 1/4 lb burger and fries is $3.99. Add a glass of tea for $1. Much better than fast food and cheaper than any of the typical joints.

Taste is subjective. I can live with most any of them except McDonalds. Nothing in there that I'll eat. The grandkids like to go occasionally or I'd never be in one.

+1,000. No wabbit food! Onions and peppers (incl. jalapanos), yes. I'm sure there's something else, but tomatoes and lettuce have no place on a burger. Maybe a salad...
