Less than what it is going to sell for. Will be interesting to see what it brings. Looks like a nice rifle----from here.

I bet it will go in the $5K range. I'll say this for the seller, he takes excellent photos. Those are some the most detailed pics I've seen of a gun being offered for sale on the web. I'm glad this one doesn't interest me.

I am going to say that the bolt has been reblued??? Look by the handle and then the black bolt face???

ETA: Odd but not unheard of, a 22G with a high comb stock.

I thought the same exact things. Good eye Mike.. I will also add that the receiver looks a little off too and the butt plate looks to have been re-blued/touched up. The rear sight definitely caught my eye, as I'm sure it is not original to the rifle. Like mike said, the 22G was used on the low combs from 1936-1953. This SG should have came with a Lyman 16B. However, I'm still holding on to the belief that it will sell for somewhere around $5,500.00.

Just picked up a 98% condition 1952 (208xxx) Winchester 70 300 h&h magnum a few weeks ago. From 1952-54, the Monte Carlo stock version came with the Marbles 69 rear sight.
I think this is the only time period a Marbles sight was used on a Pre 64 Model 70.

More than I can afford.

Post some pictures man!!! I have a 375 H&H that's like that.. from "54-56"... Receiver from '56 and the barrel from a '54... . Oh wait, you were talking about the rear sights for the monte carlo rifles. The 16B was also used from '54 to '63. It replaced the marbles sight during that time..

I look at that as a "win win" situation. Sell the 22G on ebay for $120.00 and buy the correct sight for $25.00.

Did not buy the 300 h&h very local. Spokane, Washington of all places. Attended a local gun show today and came across a few other really nice rifles. Both from same seller, one was a 1960 Browning 264 wm Safari High Power in 98% condition, never fired, priced at $1700. The other was a Pre 64 Winchester model 70 375 h&h Super grade also in 98%+ condition. It was the real deal and very nice. Never observed one before so it was a treat to see. Priced at $5000.00. I do have vendors # so if any interest, pm me. I do not know the individual or have anything to do with the sale. Thought I would pass info along on a couple rare ones.

I can't do the pics either. The 375 sounds like a nice rifle but I just bought a mint 22 Hornet and a Fox shotgun.

Box not offered. Does that mean there is one or there isnt one. If there is one, and you want top dollar for the complete package, why wouldn't it be included?

If not, a rifle in that perfect of condition must have been wrapped in a soft blanket and never touched or handled. Not a rub mark I can see-other than one ding on the comb-which makes me think it has been worked on and not that long ago.

That definitely would be a nice one to put in the safe.
