I am in full speed scope swapping, 10/22 and AR fiddling, swivel and barrel band installing mode. It's that time of year.
The man cave is a real mess as a result.
Anyhow, it is 2:30 AM and I see my .223 UL Hawkeye SS peeking out of the safe. I've had a trigger spring from Ernie the Gunsmith for months but haven't used the rifle since sage rat hunting. I pulled the stock, put it in a rifle stand and took off the stock spring. Man did that thing fly!
I was darn careful with the replacement spring and still haven't found the other one.
Anyhow, like I said...

The most dreaded sound in amateur gunsmithing, is
SPANG!
Spring has departed for parts unknown, possibly never to be found again.
I'd rather be a free man in my grave, than living as a puppet or a slave....

Flying Gun Springs can hide better than Obama Birth Certificate and School Records.
A Doe walks out of the woods today and says, that is the last time I'm going to do that for Two Bucks.

It is a well known fact that the more expensive or hard to replace a part is, the more easily it can be lost off the work bench
