I know you are packing and re-packing, scrutinizing every item. Stay safe and take plenty of photos for your write-up after you return.
May Mother Nature cooperate and your aim be true.

I'm trying to find all my [bleep] that I squirreled away 10 months ago. Haven't even started packing smile

Thanks for the well-wishes!

you might as well take my stuff Chris, by the time I figured out how to hunt, I was on the verge of being too old : (

have one gear box for sheep and one for moose or anything else. But the ultra lightweight gear goes in it's own action packer.

been so long since I hunted sheep I'm ashamed.

looked at my training hell/hill (either spelling works) the other day. Hard to believe I used to do 3x per week with 90 lbs. going up that bastid.

studdom seems to be in my rearview

I don't think... I would bet against a comeback.

You might as well skip me and hand your stuff over to the next generation smile

I have done no training, and am going to be hurting this year. Need to bring some extra whiskey!

Ya ain't too old yet Randy....just too busy making money. I made my comeback at 69 just 90 days after a heart rewiring not to mention the Mayo Clinic job on the lungs. Draw that tag and I'll point ya in the right direction.

If I really want to feel old I imagine myself sheep hunting again.

If I really want to be depressed I think that I am not in Alaska sheep hunting.

Thanks for the liftgrin

I just read Vern's post. Now I feel old and inadequate. You are right Vern, never give up, dead is the only restraint.

I'll never make a sheep hunt I don't think. Simply can't put that much money into something.

But I sure enjoy watching them!

Won't be up for sheep but will likely find something to chase mid september once we arrive for a couple weeks visit.

Good luck to all!

Jeff

Not sheep hunting this year but I leave Sunday for a goat hunt. Drew a Unit 338 tag this year.

cwh2... I think you an me should have a contest. We seemed to have followed the same training regimen and gear organization strategy. First guy to come back in one piece wins?

Best of luck to everyone headed out. My plans got shifted around and I'm going the first week instead of the 4th. Was planning on getting in shape on a few caribou hunts prior, but looks like I'll be getting in shape on a hunt. At least I know what to expect this year.

Deal. What do we win? I'll suggest free beer.

I rummaged around and found a bunch of old Mountain House last night. Most of my "overpriced" gear gets tossed into a tote at the end of the year, so I can at least find that, even if it stinks like sheep. Tents are mostly in order. I bought a space blanket this year smile Ammo is loaded. Still need to track down a knife or two, but I probably have enough to do the job. I'm on a roll!

I should probably scrub some rust off the Kimber, but I probably won't.

This is going to be 4 years in a row I miss out on sheep hunting, my calendar is just too crowded for me to go. Hope to change that next year, I have a ton of Mtn House I need to eat up.

Oh well, at least I have moose camp to look forward to in about 3 weeks!

Good luck to those hitting the mtns this year.

That's ok, I'll ass shoot a dink.

Pretty sure I would fore-go a moose hunt for a sheep hunt. wink

Best of luck on your trip.

All my gear is packed, only took me two days to find it all. Wheels up tomorrow AM. Dang summer goes quick.

I'd heard rumors of your intellect, glad to see it confirmed.

I could hunt sheep with this guy.
