Took this picture in 2009.

The fact, that I do not have any new pictures since 2011 grieves me no end.

Be safe, all you guys, that go out there. You is a free people. Appreatiate that fact.

Truth told, my alaskan friends, how you can stand to live in them there mountains and not go hunting, tells me of sense and selfconstraint...

You are better men than I.

Just got home. I was up on the hill and was suprised I had 4G up there. The ram is my cousin's. He drew a any ram permit and took a 8-9 yr old with 35" x 13.5". I'll post some pics up later when I get them on the computer. I got gear to clean and then going caribou hunting.

Good job on the ram. Old ram with 35" horns at 13,5" bases suggests perhaps a nice broom. Looking forward to the pictures.

Few places I felt as much at home as on the sheep mountains.

Good luck to all you guys out there.

My son got to tag along with his buddy for the early DCUA hunt. 20 mile hike in from the highway.

Damn that makes me envious. I'll have to live it through photos though. Can't afford it at all.

Gotta be some work on the 20 mile, but I suspect a bit of that was road.. which isn't all that bad.

Gotta be some serious memories when you walk 20 miles one way to kill a sheep.

I'd guess 31" and 6.5 age. There are some interesting genetics in dcua; we took one in there 2 years ago that looked like a twin. Congrats.

Been there, done that (DCUA) and took a swim in one of the glacial rivers on the way out. 100 plus pound pack. Buddy got ahold of my wrist and pulled me into shallow water. Did the other 12 miles soaked and cold.

Had a friend in there this year, but apparently his buddy got sick and they had to pull out.

Congrats to the young man.

That ram appears to be eight years old and about 33 inches in length with 12-1/2 inch bases. Probably a 145 or maybe even a 150 ram? Nice sheep, regardless.
