Seems I've been remiss. Daughter and SIL living on Afognak, my wife visiting them now while I tend the home fires. Wishing the SIL happy b'day on the phone the other day found out he owns 2 shotguns and a .270 rifle......that's it.  I'd sent down a Rem model 7 in .243 for my daughter, but it appears I've left the SIL undergunned. well till now anyway  found him a Win 70 in 375 H&H stainless with a 22 inch barrel for a good price today freakin ammo for that stuff is a bit spendy  80 rds set me back $210 but he's oh so worth it, he's a wonderful husband to my daughter, wonderful father to our granddaughters and the kid is a working fool that loves the outdoors and he's got pride, hates for us to spend a nickel on him and is not crazy about what we spend on our daughter or granddaughters. guess the lil [bleep] can always give it back  but he'd best plan on handing it back barrel first if so off to the gunsmith tomorrow to lighten the trigger up a bit and then off to the mailman on Thursday it'll be a bit belated b'day present, but I sure hope he likes it.

I'd say you have set him up to handle just about anything available in the area. Maybe you will even get the added fun of joining him sometime to watch him put it to use. Well done!

Sounds like a mutually good arrangement to me. (The best I can do under our present circumstances would be to buy a big ol’ bong with a set of double spigots if I was going to ‘set up’ our SIL with something he might appreciate. He’s such a slug though, he probably thinks I’m a cheap SOB for not already doing it. ) You’re not just a good man, Randy, you’re a lucky one.

+1,000,000 My ex-SIL's is now using alias's and changing his address weekly. I would really like to take him hunting with me - once. He wouldn't need a gun.

Spot on Vern, I'm looking forward to tromping the hills with that lad, hope to go hunting down there next year. and Mark and others, you're damn straight I'm lucky, that I realize, that young man is truly a blessing to our family. I try not to lose sight of that fact. you guys know how it is, good kids or young folks it's a pleasure to reward their efforts with a lil sumpthin, sumpthin once in a while droppin it off for a trigger job after work, the plan is coming together.

lol took a pic with phone, sent it my email and then tried to add it to photobucket. gmail sez must enable cookies I sez it looks like every other stainless made in New Haven .375 H&H in a composite stock with a 22 inch barrel! lordy but it sucks in this day and age to be technologically incompetent

Thanks for the FIL duties wake up call. I slipped my SIL a .22 ruger and brick of shell. Had been toying with giving it to him for awhile - thanks again for the reminder.

You can adjust that model 70 trigger yourself in less than 15 minutes. Good onya for looking after the young 'uns.
