I am guessing that if they showed them anywhere else, they would be laughed out of town.

Ha... I am a member of both this forum and the "other" forum. Not sure what your insinuating with this comment? Anyone who frequents the other forum can easily see that you post quite a bit in the "Edged Tools" section and also post quite a few photos of your knives.

You also made a post on 8/4 regarding the Turley that was being sold:

"should raise a lot of cash. Heck, one Turley or AS could bring in a couple thousand by itself."

A bit two faced..? I think so...

Then on other forums that you frequent you also call out Turley knives:

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1181483-Turley-Knives?p=13534211#post13534211

Not sure what your issues are? Bipolar?.... But you definitely have some.

Regards.

Well done.

No.. Not at all. I have been around a while. Learn a lot from this forum and others just reading when I can. No need to run up my post count to the 10's of thousands to justify myself to you or anyone else.

Just unfortunate that keyboard cowboys sit in the confines of their houses and badmouth others on forums. Simply calling someone on their BS as they stroke their ego to get the applause of their peers. Childish at best.

Speaking of "Fanboys", you are the one that has Mannlicher's quote as your signature and come to his immediate defense when someone like me calls him out on his two-faced BS...
Enough said.

Sam's quote expresses best what I've thought for years. I could have put it up without attribute. That'd have been dishonest. Sam is also a friend. Big difference between that and a circle jerk over an overpriced and never-to-be-used knife by a group of backyard commandoes.

You needn't justify yourself, nor does anyone else. What you are, and aren't, is readily apparent as is the sand in your kchunt. Your first post is to whine about people laughing at fan boy backyard commandoes overpaying for a blade; and you're questioning anyone else as to motive and honesty? Congratulations, you made douche level in record time. Stick around, as you can only one up your own level of ineptitude, imagine, and pretend by going for broke by "showing us how it's" done by rubbing sticks together in the backyard to get off fanboys via video circle jerk. No doubt, you're a f'king pro there.

When the fan boy comes back, likely after taking direction from the "pure site", perhaps he can fill us in on the rampant hypocrisy of the butt hurt there, as they lap it up on a site put on by a jackass that held a little "camp out" where he intentionally targeted other sites for ridicule and pledged to put them out of business by pulling the dick move of trade-marking "bushcraft" as if it was something he came up with and first used. If the backyard commando can get past that, he'll have no problem with the "thank" worship there, since he whines about post count here and says nothing about the "thank" mafia there. This won't even begin to touch on the abject hypocrisy of the "moderators" who say whatever to whomever they choose, then invent rules and violations as they go when someone calls them on it or says something that might dare criticize their omnipotence.

Yeah, that site's well known...

Carry on, fan boy.

Wow.. Thanks for the warm welcome! Great group of people over here.

My first post was not to whine about anything but to question your friend's integrity. Yes, I am questioning motive and honesty. Your friend seems to have a different face on the other forum and comes over here to get an applause from shoe shiners and back scratchers like you. He has a couple thousand posts over on the other site, so, by default, you must also be calling your friend a "circle jerking backyard commando" lol (how long did it take you to come up with that one anyway?). After all, he did comment on the the Turley for sale thread over there. Sooooo.....

Speaking of the "backyard commandos" or in your case, keyboard commandos...
Looks like you have pretty busy in the woods since you joined in 2011 huh? Only 11,500 posts in 4 years? Come on, you can do better than that. Hey, maybe you can make 12,000 by next week if you continue to stay up all night insulting others with every keystroke you can muster! You really can't have much to contribute when you sit behind a keyboard that often. Just sayin'. Looks like you won the post count contest as well. By default, you have the authority to cast judgement on anyone who doesn't have as many meaningless posts as you do. Isn't that how it works? Seemingly, you're like an Olympic swimmer that has never been in a pool. I am sure you can "tell" everyone how its done while sitting in your giant throne, looking through bifocals at your extra large computer monitor. You win.. I guess.

So I have an idea.. How about you let your dear friend step in and explain himself, and his alter ego over on the circle jerk forum. Like a disgruntled housewife angry with her cheating husband are you upset because "he" has been "posting" on the circle jerk forum all this time without your knowing? I am sorry. I promise, I wont tell anyone.

Oh, I've no doubt Sam will be along. I've no doubt you're well versed in circle jerks and your fascination with his sex life (or mine) is more than a little telling. You go, girl! No doubt you're in the front of the line to be one of the "new generation" BSA troop reasons, if only for all the obvious stick-rubbing, fire-making reasons...

As for what I do outside; it's quite a bit. Hunt, hike, camp, fish, shoot. Combined, probably 60-75 days afield per year; on top of a full time job and a strong family and home life.

I just don't feel the need to post it in pursuit of backyard merit badges.

Here's a taste of just one upcoming trip: headed to CO in Oct for 2 weeks at up to 12k feet chasing elk; backpacking into and out of a wilderness area. Reckon that might rate even a "thanks" from the backyard squad? Not that they'll be there, and that's the point. Hell, I might even spark a fire with flint and steel and there will certainly be cooking. Fancy all those "vids" and "attaboys" such a trip could produce, if one kowtowed to the right moderator? The mind boggles...

I did notice that you ran from an defense of the hypocrisy of your fan boy sites and said "leaders". Only play you had, really. Kudos.

I get annoyed at the Mod's behavior there and most other sites, as RB's largely hands-off style here will spoil you.

As far as the fan boys go, EVERY forum has 'em.

BCUSA members blow piles of cash ESEE knives, $150 Ti canteens, and these custom knives being fought about. It's not my money, so I don't care how much they pay or whether they use 'em or just stroke them with oil in a dimly lit room.

I've blown an equal amount of money on production knives from KaBar, Buck, OKC, Case, Mora and Condor. Some of them get flogged, and some will live out their lives in their original boxes to be opened and abused someday when I'm gone. My money, knives, and choice.

The Campfire crowd loves McSwirly stocks in crazy color combos, and Gene Ingram knives, and based on post counts/views-------- the .223AI. grin

I'm hot and cranky this time of year also, and currently watching my friggin' county burn to the ground. But I don't see the point in fist fighting over these overpriced knives when we should be talking each other into buying more knives. smile

Seen folks here laugh at themselves and each other over being "fan boys", even when made fun of elsewhere.

There MIGHT be a point there, if one can catch it.

Though, I think I'll PM Rick about trademarking "campfire", "fire", and "24hour". He'll make a fortune whilst putting other sites out of business if they dare discuss how they cook a camp meal, or what kind of kit they have for burning wood for heat and light.

wink

Yeah, that trademark BS is almost enough to make me leave. It'd been so long between signing up and my second visit that I had to email to get my account unfrozen last spring.

If anyone could claim the Bushcraft name it's probably the Limeys. Every good 'merican I know simply calls them woods skills, outdoors skills or knowledge, or more likely nothing at all.........simply the stuff everyone should know to keep from dying.

I grew up doing 4H and FFA, so I missed out on all the BSA trips the city kids did, and was more than a little jealous at the time. I've since self-educated, and am passing it all along to my almost 4yr old who warms my heart every time he says "you need your knife for that dad," but I get the appeal of playing backyard commando because I did it growing up, and still enjoy a trip to the mountains for a meal and coffee over a campfire when it'd be three times faster to cook with a gas stove or just stay home. Anyway, I'm rambling......

Sam is nowhere to be found.. Sad that you have to defend him and his alter ego. Maybe you guys can talk tonight over a glass of Merlot and some cheese. Or rather, you could PM him with notification that he is being picked on but worry not, you have his back! lol

Didn't ask for your resume'. Don't really care. Only play you had was to post your credentials so that everyone reading will never question you or your commitment to the wilderness. So really, you weren't looking for merit badges, but, what the heck, i'll will give you one anyway. lol. Well played.. As if anyone really gives a Sh**.

Amazing that you have the time to generate 11,500 posts in 4 years while juggling family life, life afield, and your full time job. Possibly posting a bit too much at work? The American way! Way to be a productive part of the workforce. Probably why China is taking over. Thanks for contributing! Good on ya.

I also didn't ask for your upcoming trip itinerary. Sadly, playing big game hunter on your computer doesn't count. Might not want to put that one on your resume. Sounds like fun though.

In closing, I am not defending anyone, or any particular web forum, knife, gun, equipment etc. Just found it kinda crappy that Sam is over rubbing shoulders with all the "backyard commandos" and then comes over here and badmouths them. Kinda hypocritical IMO. To each their own. Not to worry though, you are here to defend him and his comments. I am sure he really appreciates it! Have a good weekend. Don't type to much, you might loose the dexterity in your trigger finger and not be able to go on that hunting trip with all your super-outdoorsy forum buddies like Sam.

Thanks 222Rem. At least you get it and don't automatically start throwing insults around and telling me I have "sand in my ****". I too have spent quite a bit of coin on rifles, Axes, Knives and general outdoor gear. I think any like-minded person appreciates quality (especially in today's society where nearly everything is manufactured in China or the far east) does the same. Some are collectors, some have money to burn, and yet others like to spend $$ for quality american made craftsmanship.

I am a huge fan of Meindl Boots and even have had them shipped from Germany at a high cost. Cabelas is the only US distributor and has "cabelas specific" versions of the boots yet do not stock other models the manufacturer offers. Does that make me a fan boy or just someone that likes quality gear?

Anyway, thanks for adding a bit of civility to this thread. I appreciate it. Have a good weekend sir.

ha ha ha ha!! Mr. Big talker (4ager) was also part of the same forum that he loves to hate... All your BS and hatred for the "circle jerking backyard commandos" over on the "other site" and look what I found.

"I recently got "approval" from the "CFO" aka, the wife, or SWMNBD (she-who-must-not-be-denied) for another CO elk hunt trip next fall (2015) and two of my good buddies are both now "in" for the trip.

Going to the same place as before, and with what I learned from the last time, this one should be much easier.

It'll be a first trip for each of the other two going, but I've hunted elsewhere with both of them before; better partners on a trip, you'd be hard pressed to find.

Time for some gear upgrades…."

Ridiculous... the amount of BS someone can sling in this thread. Only to find out that Mr. insult has over 700 forum posts on "the other site".. Poor guy.. Cant decide which team he wants to be on... the "Circle jerk backyard commando team", or the "hey I have 11,000 posts so I must be respected by my peers" team.

You must have 2 a-holes because you really do discharge a ton of BS..

Yep, I used to be there. 'Tis how I know about the place. That hypocrisy runs deep. Damn near a dead lock that this thread is linked over there, likely in the "do as we say, not as we do; and pay us $35/year" private forum so the said same butt hurt commandoes can feel superior whilst doing exactly what they are butt hurt about others doing. The only reason I commented on this thread at all is because I knew exactly what would happen; that the fan boys would find a patsy and send him over to whine and bitch, whilst they fed him any info at all on folks who do or used to post there. Typical, not surprising, and damned predictable; like a bunch of tweener little girls who had someone say a negative thing about their version of Justin Beiber, and the similarity is striking.

Don't get me wrong; there are some great folks over there and a bunch that know a schit ton. Matt Paul is one hell of a bladesmith, as is Iz Turley. Croatoan is a very good fellow and knows what he's doing. There are quite a few more, and fortunately most of those can be followed or contacted outside of that forum. Those folks also have a sense of humor and don't get all bent out of shape if someone disagrees with them or thinks that spending $2k on a never-to-be-used "bushcraft" knife is nuts. With them, no one has a beef. If the cliquish and chickish "leadership" that stays butt hurt about anyone not doing it their way and as they say? Well, you get threads like this where they can't stand even a little criticism.

I got called out by a "moderator" when another "moderator" got his Mangina sandy over me using the term "damnyankee" to describe the area I was fortunate enough to be moving out of. Now, hazard the butt hurt "moderator" can and does call anyone anything he chooses (before he locks threads to prevent a retort).

That, coupled with an absolutely douchebag move by the site owner of trademarking "bushcraft" had me say "adios". Odd that one can have such a "disagreement" here, but woe be unto one that "disagrees" with a moderator ("Brother", as they call each other as if it means something) there. Dissent is not allowed; even if one follows the rules - as they make schit up as they go, if only obviously.

Hell, you can't even joke about the insanity of dropping $2k on a damned knife (that has never been and will never be used). Do so, and you're banished. The feelers get hurt so badly that even if said insanity is made fun of elsewhere, the fan boys will rush in to defend "their honor". This thread is a prime example. Zero humor, zero tolerance, and zero consistency. Add that to a douchebag owner, and an army of backyard commandoes and you get Michigunner and the rest. Such an "awesome" place to hang out, as evidenced. The fact the little shill referred to it as "what team you're on" only further reinforced this. Disagree with them at all, and "you're not on our team" as they stomp their feet and call in the cheerleaders to nag and whine and take up for them. This was a known prior to making a post on this thread, and they didn't disappoint as to the response. Way to go, girls!

Let's not forget the "moderators" who ban vendors of handmade items over there for "mystery infractions" then turn right around a short time later making and selling essentially the same thing that the banned fella was producing. Naw, that ain't suspicious as at all...

Good to know that the "moderators" there have found a shill to whom they feed info so he can carry his fan boy ass over here. Typical of the sort, and no doubt all manner of "thanks" being bestowed there as we type.

Carry on, as if only to further prove your douche status and your know-nothing; do-nothing ass as merely a mouthpiece for the butt hurt legions of backyard commando "moderators".

You still ran like their bitch from facts about their "leadership", and got pinked when accusing me of doing little/nothing. Still the only plays you had. Do continue, though, as it will get funner by the post.

I have an idea. Lets all just walk away from this thread. Yeah, I read up to here, but I am done with it.
We used to see more of this crap in the past, but been blessed with very little for quite a while.

I got involved with mud slinging at a knife forum years ago when I went there looking for some info on a knife, I suggested they ban me, they did, I have never been back there and good with that.
I like this site, and hope we can keep it mostly positive. Everyone can get riled up once in a while, but it would be nice to get back to civilized on a timely basis.

Good thought, and good words, Tim.

Time to go do something outside with the family (might even rate a "badge"...), and get back to reality.

Not sure what your issues are? Bipolar?.... But you definitely have some.

Regards.

Welcome to the forum, hopefully you stick around.

Your witty reply is nothing but back peddling! I was expecting something other than a dissertation about how bad the mods suck over there or how great you think Iz Turley is. Funny you didn't think that a few posts back.

Your current post reads like this:
1st paragraph - apology and explanation
2nd paragraph - Ass kiss a few guys on the other site
3rd paragraph through 8th paragraph - Bitch and complain about the moderators, how bad you were butt hurt by their behavior etc etc..

Again, I am not defending any one website (I am a member of a few) just pointing out a bunch of BS by someone who still hasn't explained himself or his two-faced BS. Where is your buddy? I thought he would be around before long? Waiting to hear from him about his two faced BS and how he tried to re-join the company over on the other site after he slammed those same people over here. Frankly, I am getting tired of dealing with this 4ager idiot and his obsession with being butt hurt and going to bat for his dear friend.

Just like Mannlicher, you too have an alter ego and can sling BS with your dear friend as a last attempt to "look cool" over here on the big boys hunting site. News flash... No one gives a [bleep] about your credentials, the amount of time you spend afield, or your next trip. No one gives two sh*** if your feelings are hurt because they bought expensive gear! No one gives a steaming sh** if you got all butt hurt by the moderators over on the other site or if you had some kind of bad experience. Leave it to you to tell everyone just how terrible it is over there. "Take it from me fellas (After all, I have 11,000 posts) that site is terrible and the mods are so unfair" Ridiculous! You got called out and now you back peddle with every excuse you can think of! lol

In the end, you are the only one that is "Butt Hurt"! Butt hurt because you couldn't get along on the other site, Butt hurt because people have money to spend on gear (that you may not have) and you feel obligated to comment on how they need to use their gear or how much money they can spend on it.. Several times in this thread you have referred to "the knife" that "has never and will never be used". Why does that make your panties crawl up into your a-hole? Why are you so concerned how people use their stuff? As if there aren't a few thousand guys on this site that have firearms/knives or whatever sitting in a safe that have never been used touched. Safe queens! WHO CARES! To each their own.

You really need to find something better to do. You sit behind your keyboard and slam everyone and everything over on the other site, Come to find out you were a very active like member for at least a year. Generating over 700 posts in only one year. Spent a lot of time over there huh?

Oh look. I found your backyard survival kit that you posted about on the other site. How cute! all the hand colored little altoid tins! Just darling.

Oh.. and here is something else.. Your condor knife with your super cute "be-daazzled" shealth and ultra custom twine burnt handle.. Very nice... Figured you you show it off to the backyard commandos huh? Super flashy out in the woods. I am sure it will be very useful on your upcoming elk trip! For hating the website over there, you sure posted quite a few pics looking for praise.

Have you had enough?
