it's fan boy madness. The slavering and gasping is almost more than I can take. All these folks do with the Turley knives, is take pictures of them, and show them on that forum.
I am guessing that if they showed them anywhere else, they would be laughed out of town.

Of course, another one of those knives it looks like sold for a hair under $3k. Utter insanity. Here's what all the fuss is about, if you can figure it out: http://www.turleyknives.com/None of those knives sell for more than about $600, when they are available. Availability is the catch, though. You can't technically order a knife at this time but you can request that your name be put on the contact list. Please see the home page for more info. I don't want to wait, how can I get a knife now? There's a few ways around the wait list. 1. You have to be in the military and be deploying in the very near future. Military goes to the front of the list.
Depending on a few qualifications:
Any and all branches welcome.
First thing is you have to have a combat arms m.o.s. (job).
Secondly you have to be deploying in the near future or currently deployed to the combat zone.
**Pilots and crew members of fixed or rotary wing aircraft are the exception to the above requirements. If you are a military pilot of any kind or crew member you can go to the front of the list whether you are deploying or not.**
Thirdly I need a scan of your i.d. card with name, branch of service and expiration date. All the rest of the info should be blacked out. (If you are deployed and can't get to a scanner then I will take an email from you official email address as proof instead.)
Lastly send me a unit patch or crest from the unit you are with now. (if your unit doesn't wear patches or crests don't worry about this last requirement) I have a patch jacket that I sew on the patches of all the military personnel who buy a knife from me. I'd be honored to add yours.
If you fit these requirements do not hesitate to contact me, I will put you in the first available batch of knives that I can. Usually that means only about a month or less of waiting.
To those who don't meet those qualifications please understand that I value all of you and your service to our nation. I have to limit who goes to the front though since the wait list is so long. By doing this I hope to get knives in the hands of the individuals who need them the most at this time.

You have to be quick though, they usually go within an hour of being put up. 2b. If you sign up for a free membership I occasionally will send out an email notifying the membership of an auction. I do it that way sometimes because I have people who want a better chance at a knife then they usually get when a knife goes up in the store and they don't mind paying more. 3. Join the Turley Knife club. (See the link on the left side of the page). By doing so you'll get a few chances a year to buy a knife outright without having to wait and you'll also possibly get a chance to win one for free. There are other benefits to joining the club also. The dude may very well make killer knives. He has, without a doubt, developed a cult following.

well, I guess I am in trouble over there now. Someone posted all of this tongue in cheek fun in the subforum about that knife maker. 12 pages so far, of displeasure. I feel like that 'coon in the Jerry Clower skit, being knocked out of the tree, and into the swirling, clashing, snapping pack of dogs down below.

Looks like a piece of sh-t to me I was out of line saying this. I have never MF another knife makers work. I looked at the guy web-site this morning . I don't know him never heard of him but it looks like he does make great knives. I'm sorry for what I said. However the people who are paying that kind of money are nut jobs or Buddies. I feel better know. Maybe I will go to heaven.

LOL,,,,, it would appear that internet forum hypocrisy isn't exclusive to the fire.
The same bushwackers whose feelers were hurt by being talked about "behind their backs" on another site currently have a thread going that's bashing Paul Dobbins/Trapperman.com for trying to protect his site from anti's.
Apparently a bunch of yankees who's biggest outdoor feat is starting a fire in their back yard without matches aren't aware of the hostilities and attacks trappers have to deal with on a daily basis.
It's in the hunting, fishing, gathering forum.
