My brother and I are headed to Rock Springs the end of Sept for Antelope. It looks like bird season is open and I am thinking of bringing along a shotgun.

Has anyone hunted southwest WY?

Around The Springs sage grouse would be open til the end of Sept. The other grouse are found the mts.. Long trip from there.. I think there are scattered chukars and maybe some huns in the area.. But never saw any.. Waterfowl might be better, also the Green should be good fishing as well as the Gorge..

no sharptails there

Yes bring shotgun because driving around for goats you might see chickens.

Chicken season runs Sept 19 - 30.
