So, my ex inlaws home flooded earlier this summer. They've been busy trying to rebuild but the project is mighty slow. Anyhow, the house is completely gutted inside as all the floor and walls need replaced. Wednesday morning they noticed the dog in the house barking nonstop. Upon investigation they discovered a mountain lion was in the house hiding under one of the few remaining pieces of floor. They called the Game and Fish who showed up directly. The cat was tranquilized and moved up into the mountains. It was a 1.5 year old female. Not real surprised as they've been seen quite regular in the area the last few years...

Here they're pulling it up out of the crawl space after it was tranquillized.

It is crazy. You always hear about things like this happening to someone somewhere. Never thought you'd get to be part of it though...

Looks in decent condition. Wonder how many stray dogs & cats she's eaten.

I also wonder who gets the job of undoing the straps on the legs, after the drugs wear off smile

I wish they would have let me "tranquilize" her.

The kids now have a story of a lifetime, 'I petted a mountain lion"

Pretty darn cool all around.

Yep, just in time for school to start! I think they'll have one of the best summer vacation stories...

Heck, ya should have let the kids keep the big kitty for a pet. Might have redefined "show and tell" at their school! Thanks much for sharing the story and the pictures.
