Anyone know of small pump hand
or battery that will syphon off
a shallow water source. Where I
elk hunt only water is over a mile
from camp and this year plan to
haul unfiltered water in separate
containers to camp and filter it
in camp. Thank you!

KC ~ got one of those and will use in camp. Just takes too long
to do much volume.

GURU ~ the bilge pump from Zoro looks great but huge 26 inches?
The Beckson bilge pump at 18" is a possibility.

Thanks guys, appreciate it!

There are lots of small bilge pumps available. Most run off a 12v system, but I think I recall some D-cell units for canoes, etc.

Just googled "battery bilge pump" and a lot of stuff came up.

A small hand bilge pump for kayaks would get around the battery issue, but they are kind of bulky.

A pump.
I use a quality filter pump but it takes too much time away
from hunting. I take my mules in 4 miles only pre season with my camp
and do not travel back home for them till meat in the tree.
Desert hill country with only good water 2 miles in further than 4 mile camp not the best to get the animals to. So I pack as many bottles in back back back to my 4 mile camp. Very arid country I need min one gallon a day and would like to stash 1/2 dozen gallons in case I need to have bare min for mules one evening.

JOCKC~

I think your search suggestion may work.
I will post what I decide on. Soon to mule
Pack in feed to stash and may have time to
backpack a few gallons of unfiltered
water to camp. I found some trick Swedish
army surplus poly lined canvas bags that
each may take 1.5 gallons each. Thanks

Purchased a Seatle Sports "super Deluxe Bilge Pump".
8 gallons per minute, 11 3/8 ounces plus rubber tubing.
Thanks Guys I like the idea better than battery
contraption! Will boil some, filter some in camp.

Have used the pump from my Zodi camp shower. Coffee filter to keep pump clear.
