Great pics all. Really enjoy the ones with the kids. My son is six and wants to go with me this fall. Can't wait!

I do enjoy seeing all these great hunting photo's. Photo's from a couple of Arkansas duck hunts with two of my best buddies couple of years ago and bird hunting in the NC Sandhills.

That big axis on the left...the one you said you didn't get permission to hunt...he looks to be 38" wide...maybe even 40". Damn...! He's a monster. Heavy horned, decent brows, really good caudal tines. What a super axis buck he is...!

Last year with his first deer. He was 7. He played a football game that morning and shot the doe that evening. Great day!

Nice buck.

Did you hunt on the indian land near Chimney rock? Dad and I hunted out of the Chimney rock Campground in ~2008, got 2 ok deer but saw several with horns like yours but mostly on the res. land south of the access road to Chimney rock itself.

It was the year Oprah mentioned the Hot pools at the big town east of Chimney rock, I guess the locals were overwhelmed with Oprah lovers that fall.

My son's first deer when he was 11.

[Linked Image]

His 10 point about 3 years ago.

[Linked Image]

A nice one I took a couple of years ago.

This was a muzzle loader kill. Shot the buck and the yote ran to me and hung around long enough for me to reload.

[Linked Image]

I just couldn't bring myself to shoot this guy. He must have been sent from god.

I was NNE of town about 15 miles as the crow flys. Beautiful area, I was slipping up on a raghorn bull with 3 cows when I bumped that buck out of his bed. He hesitated before crossing a small rise about 160-170 yards from me and I was able to make the shot.
