Walt is a Bernie Sanders "fellow traveler". They're pretty easy to spot.
Republicans in Congress are more likely to circle the wagons around our gun rights if there's a Democrat in the White House than a wishy washy Republican who decides to ban our guns. They figure they're safe going along if a Republican president supports it.
