http://www.breitbart.com/big-govern...ter-flanagan-bought-his-firearm-legally/On August 26 Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) spokesman Thomas Faison confirmed that Virginia gunman Vester Lee Flanagan bought his gun “weeks ago” and that “he apparently passed a background check” to get the gun. The gun was a Glock 19 9mm. According to ABC News, Faison said Flanagan bough the gun “legally.” And BuzzFeed reports that Faison said the ATF had recovered the weapon today. News that Flanagan bought his gun at a store squares with what Flanagan wrote in his manifesto, where he indicated that he “put down a deposit for a gun on 6/19/15.” That was two days after the heinous attack on the church-goers in Charleston, and The Telegraph reports that Flanagan said that very attack pushed him over the edge. Confirmation that Flanagan passed a background check means he joins numerous other attackers and alleged attackers who have passed background checks for their guns. These include John Russell Houser (Lafayette), Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez (Chattanooga), Dylann Roof (Charleston), Elton Simpson and Nadir Soofi (Garland), Jared and Amanda Miller (Las Vegas), Elliot Rodger (Santa Barabara), Ivan Lopez (Fort Hood 2014), Darion Marcus Aguilar (Maryland mall), Karl Halverson Pierson (Arapahoe High School), Paul Ciancia (LAX), Andrew John Engeldinger (Minneapolis), Aaron Alexis (DC Navy Yard), Tennis Melvin Maynard (West Virginia), Wade Michael Page (Sikh Temple), James Holmes (Aurora theater), Jared Loughner (Tucson), Nidal Hasan (Fort Hood 2009), Jiverly Wong (Binghamton), Seung-Hui Cho (Virginia Tech), Naveed Haq (Seattle), and Mark Barton (Atlanta). The fact that Flanagan passed a background also calls into question Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe’s (D) call for background check legislation earlier today. He called for that legislation while the police pursuit of Flanagan was still underway.

i heard on rush today that the shooter had an apt full of cat feces, porn, dirty sex toys, and, was a homosexual too. The guy had a history of being incompetent, being hired to fulfill various quota's, and loving to blame somebody else cause he would get jobs based upon setasides that he had no ability to handle. But you have to blame something. and it was a 9mm too, we all know about THAT round.

A nixs check is registration No, the FFL log is registration. No gun information is passed to NICS so at most it would be a gun owner registration.

No. The FBI background check only asks if it was a handgun or a long gun. Other specifics about the firearm are recorded on the 4473 Form but are retained by the dealer.

Depends on the state, so while YES a NICS check doesn't ask Serial number etc stuff, not all states use NICS

Depends on the state, so while YES a NICS check doesn't ask Serial number etc stuff, not all states use NICS States aren't banned from creating gun registries.. or cities. So anything goes at that point. Want to buy a gun from somebody in Lincoln, NE except for rifles/shotguns commonly used in hunting? Fill out the form to tell the city about it... Oh, and all dealers report all of those sales. http://cjis.lincoln.ne.gov/~lpd/gunreg/ Bastids.

Correct -- I did an auction where I did one check and bought 6 guns. Then there was another form set to AFT stating that you purchased more than two weapons at a time. This is a requirement that the FFL must do on multipule firearm purchases.

You are correct, Steelhead! ATF Multiple Firearms Purchase Form is only sent in when the buyer buys 2 or more handguns in most states. If you live in a State on the Southern US Border, the FFL Dealer has to also send in that form if the buyer purchases 2 or more semi-automatic rifles.

Bastids. Just for my own curiosity, how many of the bozos that voted that in managed to get reelected? All of the fuggers. It's why I won't live in Lincoln or Omaha.. Lincoln is the place that had the cops who went through their gun registry and compared it to their crime list, and then confiscated something like 24 handguns from a guy who'd been convicted of a $75 misdemeanor for having a pocket knife a fraction of an inch longer than city ordinances allow. http://www.saf.org/?p=6590
