Las I agree with you. The entire process is flawed when the state allows the RACK t be dominated with the likes of Willy Goodwin and there is no science taken into account.

Back to Bear...It has nothing to do with party affiliation. Period!

Bender...Take your hand out of your pants and stop trying to be apart of a discussion on a topic you know nothing about, hunting and "Bush" Alaska. Back to your Cabela's Big Game Hunter. It will as close as you get to hunting this year.

This is more a claim to aboriginal rights than some political afilliation. Aboriginal claims is a long and tired subject especially in Ak. Certainly, beyond Bear's attention span.

The man gets it! Some of your other clowns want to always find a way to attach political affiliation.

well, regardless its a political issue, regardless of the fact that I'm sure in AK, most of the poor folks are leeches just like they are down here, and we all know which way they vote.

Always thinking others owe them.

Hell thats how we got stupid obama in, all the idiots that think folks owe them, voted for him, to take money from those of us who learned how to work for a living, to give to those lazy SOBs that won't.

I really still have a hard time dealing with anyone stupid enough to vote for obama, liberal or democrat for starters, shows your ignorance in spades no pun intended.

Perhaps the most troubling thing about what the fellow was trying to get away with is that it reflects so very negatively on the many good folks out in rural areas who don't flagrantly violate the laws, wait for the opening day, buy their licenses and acquire permits, etc. (Locally we even have people from a certain village who talk about seeing a young bull or even a cow nearby, a month or two before the opening of the season, who admit it will be lucky if doesn't end up in freezers the next village over before the opening.)

And, in defense of "locals" of various stripes who are sometimes maligned, there were people from a local village who petitioned the advisory board to limit the take of bull moose in one sub-section of a sub-unit in order to bring herd numbers up. This was coming from the bottom rather than from the top. This change has been in effect for several years and it has had the desired effect on moose numbers.

Having grown up on a reservation and dealt with Indians their take on the whole wildlife management program is zero.. They will shoot everything up when its all gone they will blame that damn white man! But you do have a few tribes that see a benefit to managing the herd look at the white mtn apache. Anyhow in AK I don't know why they are violating the law most folks out in the bush get tier hunts and get a jump start on the rest of us that live on the road system. Probably one of the biggest time bombs on hunting/rights/etc is in unit 13. Drum roll please..... Ol Walt from GlennAllen benefits from this he gets 4 federal caribou tags, 1 federal moose tag(this hunt starts in August in unit 13), probably puts in for the Unit 13 Tier permit, and slums it with a state moose harvest ticket. On top of all of this he gets to hunt in Wrangell-StElias national park.

Your knowledge of reservation life is spot on and much the same up her. Your knowledge of how many tags I get is way off. I get 2 tags to hunt on federal lands and they do not layer onto of any other type of permit. So yes...Living in unit 13 allows me an extra caribou than the guys from Fairbanks but the Safeway store is 4 hours away.

By the way...I lived in Kotz for 10 years and my federal bag limit was 15 a day-year round.(in the preserve) Never took more than 3 a year though.

Have you checked the price of milk at the Glennallen store? $5.75 a gal sparky and gas is currently $3.70 a gal. Living in the rural areas have lots advantages, food and fuel prices are not one of them!

I think I will shoot 2 Booooo this year and heck I will take any bull moose while I am at it!

Uh, thinking Glennallen must not be all that rural with prices like that. Try $7 and change for a half gallon of milk (plus tax, of course), and $3.70 for gas is so turn-of-the-century as rural prices go (and only 25 cents more than Fairbanks).

Many of us tried to point out that the out of state impact was less than 2,000 animals in a herd of 400,000+ and starvation and local hunting pressure was much greater. It took a few years but it was simple to see the WACH herd was shifting its migration to the east and it had nothing to do with hunting pressure from the out of state hunters.

Ok...this is my whole point....

Bears statement...Its a democrats right

The poachers statement...
“My take is that I am practicing my Native traditional lifestyle that’s been passed on for many, many generations,” Salmon told KTUU in a phone interview today from Chalkyitsik.

How is this a Republican or a Democrat issue? It is a poaching issue and guess what? The state did the right thing just like if dumb Arss Bear had poached the moose.

So How did Bear find a way to spin this into a political issue? Well he must be a magician! or just a Dumb Arss, you choose!

Because they can always be counted upon to vote for the democraps................red "gimme dats".
