That's the problem with a 5" K frame, holsters don't grow on trees any longer for them. Well, it may not be what you wanted to hear, but you could always take some tin snips to a 6" holster. Trust me, I thunk that... I'm ordering a Threepersons, we'll see what happens this go around.

tjm10025 - "...always take some tin snips to a 6" holster. " Problem with this solution is, unless you have a very good eye (with a steady hand), it will look like tin snips taken to a longer holster. Surely, somebody in the after-market, has exactly the holster to fit the piece. Homesteader

Shouldn't be a big deal getting one for a 5" K-frame from any of the true custom makers. I draw up new patterns for oddball configurations all the time. My experience with El Paso Saddlery has been 100% positive but I did notice a slight downturn in quality since Ryan took over. They're also less willing to do alterations to their standard offerings. I can heartily recommend Big Rob's, he does excellent work. http://bigrobsgunleather.weebly.com

I don't like ordering anything. FTF is the way to transact business. Backorders are bs unless you know fully well up-front how long something will take to get to you. Holsters are about the hardest things to get ftf that I know of. You almost have to order one to get a really good one. About like a Shiloh Sharps. That makes no sense whatsoever.

Waiting times are a fact of life in the custom holster world. If you don't like it, there's always Galco and Bianchi--both make perfectly serviceable holsters that are available off the shelf.

Kirkpatrick makes some excellent gun leather. Had a complete 1911 rig by them for about 20 years now. http://www.kirkpatrickleather.com/

I never had a problem with waiting. I have a problem with paying 100% up front and told 8 weeks, then when the 12 week mark comes it takes me a week for them to even confirm they took my order and told it will be about 2 weeks. Then 6 weeks go by and I get to play the same game over again. That went on for 9 months.

Rob replied back on email, said since he came out with the Cattleman, he stopped the Threepersons. There is a guy that he has that makes them, but you need to go through Rob for a quote.

I'm glad this thread drug on long enough for Big Rob to surface. I hadn't heard of him, but really like his version of the Sparks 200AW, call The Shield. There's a lot to like about that design. http://bigrobsgunleather.weebly.com/the-shield.html
