This will be for an AR 16" mid-length, 5.56, twisted 1:7.

Earlier in the year, I tried the 62 grainer in a .223 bolt gun with a 20" barrel and it did very well on a pig, but ...

In the shorter barrel, I wonder if I would be better off dropping a little weight (to 50 or 55) in exchange for a little more velocity for performance on game.

Anybody been hunting with these three bullets in an AR? Do you have a preference?

My seven year old shot a little buck with a 50 TTSX out of a 16 inch handi rifle. Bullet was a complete pass through with a significant amount of damage.

I wouldn't hesitate to use it again.

Well, there you go. Good for the little fella. And you, too, Dad.

I don't see a downside to using heavier weight TTSXs when shooting a 223 if your barrel can twist them quickly enough. The untipped versions would be another story.

We've been using the 55's in our 20" barrel AR with great results. One-shot kills on 6+ deer and numerous hogs in the past couple of years. Only recovered one of the 55's and it still weighed 54 gr.

Been using the 55s in a 8 twist bolt gun with 22 inch Bbl...They go through everything, so I figured to keep them and their extra velocity over shooting 62s...

Thank you, all gentlemen. I believe I'll go with the 55s, then.

The 50s will most likely go through everything as well. I'd go light and fast.
