Either my mid 50's M70 .270 fwt or a mcm/pre 64 M70 7x57

My model 7 in 7mm-08 will get the most carry time in deer season but id also like to get my 35 Remington out some.

Outside of deer season seems my 243 has moved to the front for yotes and hogs.

I'll be carrying my own roll of toilet paper! fuggin bastards

Ruger 1-A .243, Marlin 1895 45/70, probably my flintlock depending on if I hunt a ML season. Couple recurves during bow.

This one a little, .30-06 Ruger TS with factory Hornady 180 gr spire points.



Or this model 70 EW .300 WSM that has been good to me, or at least I've been lucky with it.



But mostly this. A 700 ADL with the barrel cut back to 21 inches in .308 win. I have swapped the scope out with a Leupold Mark AR with T2 adjustments and Mil-Dot. Haven't settled on a load yet, but have some 125 and 165 SST's to try out.

Its going to get some 50 Gr. TTSXs shot through it at warp speed . If it doesn't like them, the norma; 55 grain Hornady load should work nicely indeed.

Either the CZ or Featherweight in 7x57 and the 7mm Dakota.

Got a new to me 1941 Savage 99R in 300 Savage that's crying to be taken out. Just have to put a Leupold on and sight her in... the POS scope that came on it was done in by the UPS shippers.




As backup/second rifle.. dunno. Hoping a rifle that's been pending at a gunsmith for 2 years will be back in my hands by October and I can take that. Otherwise.. my dad's Marlin 336, or a 99T, or my lucky 99EG, or who knows.

We leave tomorrow for the first hunt.. Packed 3 rifles..
1.700 in .300 Sav. with 21" barrel.. New not blooded...

2.700 in .270 with a 26" custom barrel.. String of kills with this one.. A close contender for my favorite deer rifle..

3.700 in .300 WM.. My old reliable. 26" Lilja. This one has killed more big game than all the rest.. Pack this one in case I get a long shot at a really trophy buck..

Next hunt, who knows..

I haven't hunted my M70 30-06 SPRG in several years, so I checked the zero at the range last Friday - it's up first. Once I kill my first deer I will switch to my M88 in 308 WIN. I usually shoot two deer per season; if I shoot a third I will probably be swamp hunting with a M94 WIN or a M1894 Marlin.

That model 88 is a sharp rifle...

1947 Model 99 EG in 250-3000. Using factory Winchester Silvertips 100 grain. Old gun loves them.

Well, don't have the freezer full, but I did whack one Sunday eve with the crossbow. She's of course broken down and in a cooler on ice now and packing into the freezer starts this evening. Nice big yearling doe I've been watching for a month or so now.

I am flat out impressed with Rage 2 inch cut broadheads and the crossbow. She walked out facing me and I just waited until she got herself situated just right and put it in about mid neck and pointed just above her heart. Took out about a foot of jugular and carotid and then opened the aorta just above the heart. Two crow hops and she flopped about six feet from where she stood. A couple kicks and that was that. Cut bone all the way down the neck. Lighted nocks are really nice! Under canopy just after sunset you can see it go where you pointed it and know it's all over.

If the Indians had those broadheads and decent bows, the the cowboys would have had a rougher go.

Same one I always carry.
