I have a bolt action 250-3000 with a 24" 1-11 twist barrel. What is the max bullet weight this barrel should be able to stabilize? This gun will be used for deer and bear.

Length not weight matters. That said I can't imagine any of the 100gr CC bullets not working, I'm guessing the 80gr TTSX should work just fine too. I'd not count on 110gr Accubond or 100gr Barnes working.

1-11" is a weird one.

110 Accubond should be a dandy for the purpose. Couldn't agree more with Steely.

That's would be a good bullet to start with.

If you are more bargain oriented, at 250/3000 velocities, the 100gr Ballistic tip could also be a good deer killer.

You didn't use logic or reason to get into this opinion, I cannot use logic or reason to get you out of it.

I didn't say that I thought the 110 would work well.

Ok Steely, misread your post. My bad. But with a 1-11 twist the 110 should work . For the caliber 1-10 would be more acceptable to the 115 - 120. Again my bad.

1-10" is not MORE than acceptable in a 25 to my mind. A 1-9" is acceptable.

Thanks for the replies.

I wasn`t sure what my options were with the 1-11" twist. Looks like I`ll start with some 100 gr CC bullets.

Have to agree with this. I had a 10" twist with the .250 and it shot fairly well with most 100 grain bullets, but not so well with any spitzer heavier than that. Had a 9" Pac-Nor installed and it really groups well with 110 AB and even the 120 NP.
