I've got an SWFA 1-4x24 scope on the way to go on my Ruger AR-556 so I've started shopping for scope mounts. I don't want to spend more than $100 on a mount, so I've been looking at the Leupold and Burris mounts, among others. In my shopping I ran across the Primary Arms extended scope mount; at $60 it looks like a good deal. Anyone have one? If so, how do you like it?

Have you used it? If so, with what scope? How positive are the mounting bolts? Any front to back or side play when the mount is tightened down?

I like the Burris PEPR mount. Rock solid. Bulky, huge, crude, and heavy...just another Chinese made, extruded mount. This one just happens to have a brand name.

I have 2-$200+ Nightforce brand AR15 extended scope mounts holding high dollar Leupold and Nightforce scopes and I also have 2 of these Amazon They are holding a one-inch and 30mm lower end scopes on M4s and despite their origin and cost I haven't had an issue with either one of them. I liked the versatility and figured I try one, and bought another when I needed another knock-around M4 scope and was not sure what I'd end up with..... Are they as bullet-proof as my Nightforce versions - I highly doubt it, but then for less than $40 shipped they have worked for me over a year now without complaint.

That DNZ mounting system looks a little skimpy to hold up a 16-20 oz SWFA scope. Might be ok for a 12 oz loopy but there are lots of options for beefier mounts for beefier scopes. RR, Mod 1 sales, Armalite or even a cantilever riser and rings. Just saying...

I agree
If I was putting a bigger optic on a harder kicker I wouldn't use the DNZ
But the rifle I have pictured is a bull barreled 22LR so no worries

It is Chinese, it is extruded, and to me it seems a tad heavier than a PEPR, but it is very nice and works well. I have one on my 5.56 and really like it. Primary stands behind their product as stated. If you want the same mount with quick release cam locks, by the very same mount (less Primary's Guarantee, mind you) from this place: http://www.ebay.com/itm/TMS-One-Pie...-Locks-/131583380647?hash=item1ea2fb0ca7I have one and it is very nice

The DNZ isn't going to move unless the scope weight 100+ pounds! I would look at Nikon (made by Warne), one of the DNZ mounts or anything besides a PA. PA is the junk of the AR world.

DNZ, Aero Precision, Warne, Nikon, Leupold, and others sell quality mounts at affordable prices...there is absolutely zero reason to go with cheap crap.

life is too short to chase accuracy with a questionable scope mount.

Damn shame then that it works well, eh? I've got a PEPR on one of my AR's and it is rock friggin solid and tough as nails. Then again, that's why I bought it!

Yeah, the Chinese can design and manufacture smartphones and ICBMs but they can't seem to overcome the technological hurdle of making a one-piece scope mount.

It has nothing to due with design but everything to do with materials.
Chinese steel, aluminum and copper are low grade but if you want to just shoot a few rounds now and then and say you have an AR, go ahead.
