I see that on their Lake Paradise safari the Johnsons had a ".32 Winchester". Not getting any feedback from the Safari Museum. Just trying to find out what it was. The .32 Winchester Special in the M1984 was popular in Africa back in the day, but maybe a M95 in .32-20 or .32-40? Many thanks.

One of our great forum members, BFaucett has done quite a bit of research on the Johnsons and in fact, he owns Ossa's 9.3X62 Obendorf Mauser. Maybe he'll chime in. On your query, a 32 Win can only be a M94. Have you contacted their museum?

The following are possible answers:

32-20 (AKA 32 WCF) in the models 1873, 1892, 53, or 65.

32-40 in the model 1894.

32 WS in the models 1894, 55, or 64.

AFAIK, the models 1866, 1886, and 1895 weren't chambered for any .32 caliber cartridges.

I'm about 165 pages into the book right now. I bought it last winter but it ended up at the bottom of a pile and I just found it a week or so ago.

Just about puked when I read about the native woman that had a white hot rock tucked into the back of her knee then her leg bound with heel touching the back of her thigh for an hour.

Crippled for life..........damn.

Great book so far and I doubt the rest will be a disappointment.
