Powders on hand.... Varget/Big Game/ CFE 223

What bullet do you suggest?
Do you load for 5.56 or .223?

CFE 223 and the 55gr VMAX. Work up until you get pressure signs, drop your charge back down until you find an accurate node.

Ingwe reported good results on fur with the 60gr NBT slowed down to around 2700 fps.

Shooters Proshop has them as blems.

I think it would be worth a try.

wanting to preserve or simply kill is a question I'd ask.

I don't have a good answer as I usually shoot em with my practice match ammo, 75 bthps or 68 bthps. Hides ain't worth anything on a yote. Fox was 25 last year, then they get a super colibri instead.

I shoot the 53gr Vmax over a healthy dose of Benchmark. Like Rost, I could not care less about pelts.

Why not a simple Sierra 55 game king?

The Vmax, for me, is a better shooting bullet, and is easier to make shoot well. With the excellent BC of the 53gr Vmax, my dope is a little easier to work with. On top of that, I prefer a lighter constructed bullet for coyotes.

You want to kill it, stop it or harvest the fur?
A fmj will kill it, a 40 gr will bust him good

A 60 gr. V-Max over a healthy dose of TAC. Proven performer...
